AEW Dynamite’s 200th episode was live on August 2, 2023, from Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL, and we were live here with all the results from the show.

A packed card was set for the show along with 2 title matches. Toni Storm defended AEW Women’s Championship against Hikaru Shida in the main event. Aussie Open defended ROH Tag Team titles against El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander. FTW Champion Jack Perry came face-to-face with Jerry Lynn in a segment.

We heard from AEW World Champion MJF and Adam Cole. Jon Moxley, Penta El Zero Meido and Trent Baretta clashed in a triple-threat match. Chris Jericho took on his proteges Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia as he teamed up with Konosuke Takeshita. The Elite were in action in a trios match against Jay Lethal’s team.

  • Chris Jericho & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia in a singles match via pinfall.

  • The Elite(Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) defeated Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett & Satnam Singh in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • Aussie Open(Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher)(c) defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander in a tag team match to retain ROH Tag Team Championship.
  • Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm(c) in a singles match via pinfall to win AEW Women’s Championship.

LIVE UPDATES

Chris Jericho & Konosuke Takeshita vs Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia

Sammy starts against Jericho who hits a shoulder block. They trade chops before Sammy hits a corkscrew dropkick. More chops before Sammy hits a jumping knee. Garcia comes in for a double shoulder tackle and poses with Sammy. An enraged Jericho trades chops with Garcia. Garcia mocks Jericho with some dancing before taking him down. Takeshita tags in and hits a back elbow before a running clothesline. Jericho comes back to hit a side suplex. Jericho hits a delayed vertical suplex. Garcia fires back with heavy shots after disrespect from Jericho with slaps. Don Callis picks Garcia’s leg and allows Jericho to drop Garcia. We cut to a break.

We return to see Jericho in control. More chops traded before they both tag out. Sammy hits a diving crossbody on Takeshita before he sends him to the floor. Jericho is hit with a suicide dive and Takeshita is hit with a tornillo. Sammy hits a frog splash off the top on Takeshita but Jericho breaks the pin. Takeshita puts on the Liontamer but Sammy gets to the ropes. Jericho tags in but Sammy hits him with a standing Spanish Fly for a two-count. Garcia tags in but runs in a Codebreaker from Jericho. Every starts to get invovled. Garcia puts Jericho in the Dragonslayer. Don Callis comes in with Jericho’s baseball bat and smacks it on Garcia’s face. Jericho covers Garcia to get the pinfall.

Winner – Chris Jericho & Konosuke Takeshita

Tony Khan appears for a short promo celebrating 200 episodes of Dynamite and sends up to a video package to celebrate the milestone.


Chris Jericho is interviewed backstage after the break. but Matt Menard comes in to tell him that Jericho Appreciation Society have a mandatory meeting next week, and he has to be there.


Tony Schiavone is in the ring and he brings out Jack Perry. Perry calls out Jerry Lynn. Lynn comes out on the stage and says beating Perry will be child abuse, and no doctor will ever clear him to fight again. So instead, he has someone from ECW who can fight Perry. Rob Van Dam’s music hits and he comes out to the ring. Perry shows off the title but leaves the ring. RVD and Lynn hug in the ring. Perry tries to catch them with a chair shot but RVD ducks him. Perry runs out to avoid a spinning kick, and runs into the crowd.


We get pre-recorded promos from Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida for their AEW Women’s Championship.

Jon Moxley vs Penta El Zero Meido vs Trent Baretta – Anything Goes Match

Baretta hits Mox with a suicide dive. Penta hits a suicide dive on Baretta. He hits a slingblade on Mox. Baretta hits Penta with a can before Mox runs him over. Baretta blocks a cutter from Moxley before Penta hits him with can. Mox hits a cutter on Penta. He brings in a barbed wire bat but Penta ducks it. Baretta hits a running knee on Penta using the can lid. Mox slams the wired bat on Baretta’s back. He hits a piledriver on top of wired bat. Penta sets up a couple of tables on the floor and sets up Baretta on it. Mox puts Penta in a crossface with the wired bat. Baretta gets to the top and puts Mox through the table with superplex.

Baretta and Penta hit superkicks on Mox. Penta hits a superkick on Baretta and sets him up on a table. Baretta gets to the top with Penta. Penta blocks a superplex and hits a Canadian Destroyer from the top rope. Mox tackles Penta through a table set up in the corner. Mox spreads thumbtacks in the ring. Penta blocks death rider. Mox blocks Fear Factor and hits a piledriver on the thumbtacks. He drops Penta on thumbtacks with a suplex. He then goes for a cutter on Baretta but he blocks and hits a Piledriver on top of thumbtacks. A 3-way brawl starts before Baretta is dropped. Mox hits Penta with Paradigm shift. Baretta kicks him out of the ring and pins Penta.

Winner – Trent Baretta

After the match, Mox puts Baretta in a sleeper choke. Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta come out. Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor also run out to make the save. Cassidy nails Mox with an Orange punch. Taylor takes the mic and challenges BCC for a parking lot fight at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville on Rampage this week.


Rob Van Dam is interviewed backstage. He says he heard Jack running his mouth. He challenges Jack for next week for FTW title. He will see how much fun he will have before deciding on retiring FTW title.

MJF Speaks!

MJF comes out to the ring. Slightly mixed response from the crowd. He says he is a little emotional. He brings up that he has some disorders and one of them is rejection sensitive disorder, which makes him react negatively to rejections. He says he had been bullied and beaten up as a child, but he had blocked most of it apart from a bunch of boys throwing some quarters at his face. He has protected himself from RSD but became a scumbag while doing so. He says it was easy way out, but being a good person and doing the right thing is hard. But, he is not scared anymore and that is because of each and every singles one of fans who have taught him that they care about him.

MJF says he will not change overnight, but he is ready to be out scumbag. “You are scumbag” chants from the crowd. MJF says there is one person who taught him that living like this is not good, taught him to trust. He brings out the best wrestler in the world and best human being Adam Cole. Cole comes out without his music. Cole says he keeps impressing him not only because of being a great pro wrestler but how he is improving as a human being. Cole says he is becoming the man. Fans are also coming behind him because they believe that there is a good man inside him.

MJF says this is not the reason he has brought out Cole tonight. MJF promised Cole a title shot at AEW World title, but he has come to the conclusion that Cole does not deserve a match. MJF brings in a contract and Cole deserves the match in front of the most historic crowd at Wembley at All In. MJF says there is no one else that he would make history other than Cole. Cole signs the contract and they hug in the middle of the ring.

Roderick Strong was watching all this on a screen backstage and starts to throw tantrum by throwing things around. The Kingdom come in and says Cole keeps forgetting about his one true friend.

The Elite(Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett & Satnam Singh

Jarrett starts against Omega who hits a shoulder tackle, a hip toss and a body slam. Jarrett does his signature strut. Omega hits an armdrag on Lethal as he tags in. Matt comes in to hit dropkick on his arm. The Young Bucks double team on Lethal with hurricanrana and a clothesline. Lethal slips out to tag in Satnam. Nick goes to tag in his partners but they move away from the apron. Satnam beat up Nick. Matt tags in for some double team but Satnam hit them with a crossbody to drop both of them. Lethal and Jarrett pose with Satnam to mimic The Elite. We cut to a break.

Nick hits a superkick on Jarrett as we return. Omega tags and hits hammers on Lethal and Jarrett. Omega hits a rolling senton on Lethal. Satnam grabs him by the throat but Nick picks his leg. The Young Bucks run riot with quick double-team moves on Lethal and Satnam. Omega hits Satnam with V-Trigger. Karen Jarrett distracts the referee. Sonjay Dutt attacks Omega. Lethal hits Omega with a Lethal combination. Brandon Cuttler sprays water on Karen to neutralize her. The Hardys attack Sonjay Dutt on the ringside. Hangman Adam Page hits a Buckshot lariat on Jarrett who came in with a guitar. Lethal picks up the guitar but Omega nails him with V-Trigger. BTE Trigger on Lethal finishes off the match.

After the match, Page reminds us of the news from earlier today that the Elite have signed back with AEW.


We get a backstage promo from Swerve Strickland and AR Fox. Fox says Darby Allin credits him for his success, then why he did not call him for 5 years until he saw him backstage at AEW. Swerve says he has cast Fox in his latest movie. We cut to a video where Swerve and Fox visited Buddy Wayne academy to attack Fox. They him with a vase and leave him bloodied. They call Darby and ask why did he not call Fox until last year he was signed with AEW. Swerve tells him that they are the ghost of his past.

Aussie Open(Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher)(c) vs El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander – ROH Tag Team Championship

Vikingo starts strong with quick moves. Aussie Open take over control with double team attack on Komander. Komander avoids a corner splash and hits some chops. Fletcher trips him on the ropes but Komander manages to send him to the floor. Vikingo and Komander fight double team vs Davis before also tripping Fletcher on the ropes. They clear the ring and go for a suicide dive. Aussie Open catch them and slam them into each other. We cut to a break with Aussie Open in control.

Vikingo jumps off the top but Aussie Open hit him with a double superkick. Davis hits a body slam before Fletcher hits a splash on him. Komander saves Vikingo from a double team by hitting Fletcher with a Canadian Destroyer. Vikingo hits a crucifix bomb on Davis. They hits rope walk moonsault on Aussie Open on the floor. Vikingo and Komander hit double 450-splash on Davis. Fletcher breaks the pin. Vikingo is dumped to the floor. Komander is hit with toriollis for the finish.

Toni Storm(c) vs Hikaru Shida – AEW Women’s Championship

Storm hits a boot to midsection to start. Shida fires quick shots. Storm does the same. Shida’s shots forces Storm to slip to the floor to regroup. Storm gets back and Shida hits her with a kick. She hits a shoulder tackle to bring her down to the mat and unloads with quick punches. She sets up Storm on the apron and hits a running knee. She throws Storm into the barricade before starting to unload. Storm slips away and drops Shida’s head into the barricade.

Back to the ring, Storm slams her face into the turnbuckle. Shida does the same before dropping her with an exploder suplex and hitting another suplex. Storm slams her face into the mat. Storm kicks at the face a few times before sending her to the floor with a hip attack on the ropes. Saraya and Ruby attack Shida on the floor. Storm drives her into the barricade a few times. We cut to a break.

Shida blocks a hip attack as we return and hits a German suplex. Shida nails an enzuigiri and a couple of running knee strikes. She unloads with quick punches in the corner before a missile dropkick to get a two-count. Shida hits a Meteora to get a near fall. Shida sets her up on the top turnbuckle again. Saraya distracts the referee and Soho intervenes to allow Storm to hit a tornado DDT. Storm hits a hip attack in the corner to get a near fall.

They trade big elbow shots and chops. Shida hits a V-Trigger and a falcon arrow for a near fall. Saraya throws in Shida’s kendo stick but Shida picks it up and nails Saraya with it. The referee removes the stick but the distraction allows Storm to spray paint at Shida’s face. Storm hits Storm Zero for a near fall. Shida counters with a victory roll to get the pinfall.

Winner – Hikaru Shida
