Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Collision July 8, 2023, which was live from Regina, SK.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator match between FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and Bullet Club Gold(Jay White & Juice Robinson) was one of the marquee matches. These teams had been part of Collision’s main events in the first two episodes, with both teams winning one match a piece.

2 semifinals for Owen Hart Foundation Tournament were also on the card. CM Punk takes on Samoa Joe for the first time in 18 years in the likely main event in one of the semifinals. Ricky Starks faces Powerhouse Hobbs in another semifinal for men’s tournament. Julia Hart was in action while Scorpio Sky also return to in-ring action after more than a year.

  • Ricky Starks defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal via pinfall.
  • Julia Hart def. Bambi Hall in a singles match via submission.

  • Scorpio Sky defeated Action Andretti in a singles match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

CM Punk comes out to the stage and starts talking. He talks about his first match against Samoa Joe after 18 years and the gravity of the moment. He says many wrestlers would not be here if it wasn’t for Owen Hart. So, he wants to earn the trophy and will pour his heart out and leave everything in the ring. Punk closes off by kissing the trophy. We cut to a video package for the history between Punk and Joe.

Ricky Starks vs Powerhouse Hobbs – Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal

Powerhouse Hobbs dominates the match for the most part as Starks’ momentum is thwarted by continuous interferences from outside from QT Marshall. Starks picks up Hobbs from the second rope to hit a powerbomb. QT picks Starks’ ankle again and the referee catches him this time. The referee starts to argue with him. Hobbs hits a spinebuster but the referee is busy with QT. Hobbs then starts to argue with QT to hurt his chances. Starks ends up pushing Hobbs into QT and their heads clash. Starks hits a spear to get the pinfall.

Winner – Ricky Starks

We get a pre-recorded promo from Miro condemning Gods and his hot wife.


We are told that Willow Nightingale is injured and will not be competing in her Owen Hart semifinal tonight. She is interviewed backstage, but gets interrupted by Athena. Athena says Willow has destroyed her Collision debut. Their argument continues for a while.

Julia Hart vs Bambi Hall

They lock up and Bambi ends up powering Julia to the corner with her superior size. Hart hits calf kicks but Bambi throws her into corner. Hart trips her to the mat and hits kicks to her face. Hart hits a running tackle before more kicks and puts on Hartless lock to get the submission.

Winner – Julia Hart

Malakai Black took away Andrade’s mask last week. Black gets a pre-recorded promo saying that he will expose Andrade’s true self and teach him to his energy does not come from mask


Andrade is interviewed and asked what exactly does his mask mean to him. Andrade says he is a businessman and does not hide behind his mask. His mask is about his family, culture, country and all Latin people. So, when he has his mask on, he does all the business, but when it’s time to fight, he takes the mask off.

FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs Bullet Club Gold(Jay White & Juice Robinson) – AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator

Dax and Jay start. Jay hesitates in engaging but hits an arm drag before a quick takedown from Dax. Dax puts on a side headlock leading to a hip toss and a chin lock to the mat. White gets to the ropes. Tags to Juice and Cash. Juice starts with an arm wringer. Cash counters with a fireman’s carry takeover. Juice hits a couple of shoulder tackles before a monkey flip into the knees from Cash. Juice rolls to the floor to regroup. Jay tags in and hits a knee to the midsection and shots to the back. Cash ducks under Juice when he tries to take a shot on the apron. It turns into a 2-on-2 showdown and FTR send their opponents into the corner before hitting a German suplex. We cut to a break.

Juice sends Dax into the turnbuckle as we return. Dax hits back with chops and Juice replies with the same. Dax hits an ax handle before dropping Cash on Juice. Cash hits a dropkick to get a two-count. Cash hits chops in the corner. Juice turns it around breifly but Cash hits an inverted atomic drop. Cash unloads from the second rope. Juice picks him up and slams him to the mat. Dax’s argument with the referee allows White to drop Cash into the apron. Cash has hurt his ribs. White tags in and hits shoulder tackles against the turnbuckle. A backbreaker from White is followed by a standing senton.

White puts on the Muta lock. Dax comes in and hits a shot at his midsection to break the submission. White whips Dax into the barricade on the floor. Cash hits back elbow to fight back. Cash gets White in an inside cradle when the referee argues with Juice. White hits a suplex to send Cash into the turnbuckle to get another two-count. Cash decks Juice off the apron before a crossbody takedown of White. Dax gets engaged by Juice on the apron and then tackled off by White. Cash hits a boot from the corner. He also fights Juice before Jay uses a low bridge to send Cash to the floor. We cut to another break.

Dax gets the tag as we return and unloads with a flurry of offense. He clotheslines Juice to the floor and gets Jay into an inside cradle for a two-count. Dax hits a couple of German suplexes. White blocks the third one but Dax turns to a brainbuster to get a two-count. Dax puts White on the top rope and unloads some more. Juice pushes Dax off the top before engaging with Cash on the apron. Cash drops him on the apron. Jay is tripped on the top rope. Dax hits a superplex and Cash follows it up with a splash from the top to get a near fall. Jay throws Dax to the floor after a tag to Cash. White sends Cash into a cheap shot from the floor. White hits a saito suplex but Dax comes in to block Blade Runner.

White escapes Shatter Machine and Juice nails a big shot on Cash. White hits a piledriver but Dax kicks out. Cash is sent to the floor. Dax survives after a Regalplex from White. Cash comes in to save Dax from a double suplex. Juice is thrown to the floor. Dax hits a slingshot powerbomb on White to get a near fall. Juice comes in for a leg lariat on Dax. Cash hits him with a backbody drop. White hits Bladerunner on Cash. Dax and White trade forearm shots. Juice gets a blind tag. Dax fights both opponents before rolling up White. Juice hits him with a leg sweep to get the pinfall. Cash comes in to break the pin but gets short.

Winner – Bullet Club Gold

We get a video package featuring Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Shawn Spears as Spears challenges Luchasaurus for TNT Championship next week at Battle of Belts.


After the break, FTR’s interview is interrupted by Bullet Club Gold. They settle to face-off in a 2 out of 3 falls match next week at Battle of The Belts.

Action Andretti vs Scorpio Sky

Sky starts with a calf kick, side headlock into a shoudler tackle, and into a chinlock. Andretti gets on an elbow stretch but Sky gets out of it quickly. Sky hits a double stomp on his back. Sky controls the match and focuses his attack on Andretti’s back. We cut to a break.

Andretti uses ropes to break free of a lock. Andretti hits a backbreaker and a neckbreaker to get a two-count. He hits a sprinboard back elbow to send Sky to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Andretti hits a Spanish fly in the ring to get a two-count. Sky blocks a move but Andretti also blocks a backslide. Andretti hits a knee to face and a superkick. Andretti hits a shotgun dropkick. Sky gets his knees up on a springboard moonsault. Sky hits TKO to get the pinfall.

Winner – Scorpio Sky

CM Punk vs Samoa Joe – Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal

Punk ducks a roundhouse kick. Punk ducks a lock up and takes a shot at the back. Some back and forth before Punk hits tackles into the right shoulder before turning into a side headlock. Punk ducks a chop and puts on an arm wringer. Joe walks away from a crossbody from the second rope. Joe is firmly in control and hits kicks at Punk. He follows up with his signature jabs in the corner. Punk fires back with forearms and chops but Joe quickly hits with a back elbow to drop him. Punk gets to the second rope but Joe’s chop sends him to the floor. We cut to a break.

Joe is still in control as we return. Joe puts on a neck crank breifly. Joe misses a knee drop. Punk nails forearms. Joe hits a big shot but his knees gives out. Punk sends him to the corner and hits a jumping knee. Joe puts on Coquina clutch. Punk breaks it by dropping Joe onto his head. Punk hits quick shots. Joe ducks a kick and hits quick jabs. Punk pushes him to the corner to hit jumping knee a couple of times. He hits a clothesline to set up and hits an elbow drop to get a two-count.

Punk goes for GTS but Joe slips out and puts on a crossface. Punk drags his feet to the ropes to break it. Joe hits Kawada kicks to the face. He hits a snap powerslam after avoiding GTS once again. Punk hits a roundhouse kick to get a near fall. Punk goes to the top but Joe trips him. Punk blocks Muscle Buster and hits a neckbreaker. Joe slips out of GTS again, but Punk drops down to avoid Coquina Clutch and gets Joe in a cradle to get the pinfall.

Winner – CM Punk

Punk is also in disbelief. Joe offers a handshake. Punk takes it but Joe puts him in a Coquina clutch and puts him to sleep. Joe brings in a steel chair. FTR run out to make the save. Ricky Starks also comes out to the stage to stare down at Punk.
