AEW Blood & Guts 2022 Results, Dynamite June 29 Live Coverage

Welcome to the live coverage for AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts 2022 special event on June 29, 2022. The show airs from Little Ceaser’s Arena in Detroit, MI.

The event features the yearly Blood & Guts match between Jericho Appreciation Society and Blackpool Combat Club. The feud started with Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston after Kingston defeated Jericho. However, Jericho did not show any respect towards Kingston as he promised, turned heel and introduced his new faction. Eddie was first supported by Santana & Ortiz and later Jon Moxley and company came into the feud.

Blackpool Combat Club will have Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta, Santana, Ortiz and Claudio Castagnoli. Jericho Appreciation Society has Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard. JAS has the entry advantage after Jericho and his team won a tag team match against Kingston’s team at Forbidden Door.

Two more matches are announced for AEW Blood and Guts special. TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill will defend her title against Leila Grey. Ethan Page will face Orange Cassidy. Christian Cage will be live to talk more about his heel turn.

Orange Cassidy vs Ethan Page

Orange Cassidy comes out with Best Friends. Ethan Page and Dan Lambert are out here. Lambert takes shot at Cassidy’s weight and size. He asks the referee to boot Best Friends since they do not have a manager’s license. The referee actually goes on and tell them to leave.

Cassidy ducks a clothesline but Page pulls him to the mat and stands on top of him. Cassidy kips up and hits a dropkick with hands in his pocket. Cassidy hits an armdrag after they run the ropes. A diving crossbody from Cassidy gets him a quick two-count. Cassidy fails to pick up Page for a body slam. Page hits a big tackle to drop him. He goes on to put Cassidy’s arm in his pocket and hits him with a punch to midsection. He hits a delayed vertical suplex. Cassidy rolls him up for a two-count and Page quickly hits him with a big boot to knock him out to the floor. We cut to a break.

Cassidy goes for a sunset flip as we return but Page nails him with a roundhouse kick and a brainbuster to get a close two-count. Cassidy stops Ego’s Edge and gets his hands in his pocket. Page nails him with an elbow but OC slips out of Ego’s Edge again. OC sends Page into the turnbuckle a few times. He goes to the top but Lambert grabs his boot to delay his move. Page unloads on him after bringing him down. Page shows a middle finger to the crowd.

Cassidy counters with Stundog Millionaire. OC goes for another body slam but he fails once again. OC then counters with a tornado DDT to get a close two-count. OC sets up for Orange punch. Lambert gets on the apron and OC hits him with lazy slaps. Page charges at him but OC ducks him. OC hits Page with Orange punch and spits Orange juice on Lambert’s face. He hits another Orange punch and a body slam to get the pin.

Winner – Orange Cassidy

Best Friends get into the ring and do their hug with OC in between.

Tony Schiavone is on the stage and brings out Christian Cage amid some boos. Cage says he was asked by upper management to apologize for comments on Jungle Boy’s family. He has not apologized for anything in his career but he apologizes to Jungle Boy that his family is not dead. He goes on to throw shade on Detriot now. Cage says he requested a match, but it was not for him. Luchasaurus’ new music hits and we get some fireworks as he comes out. Luchasaurus makes his way to the ring with Christian with him.

Luchasaurus vs Serpentico

Serpentico is already in the ring for the match, but he is not willing to face Luchasaurus in a match. Serpentico charges and Luchasaurus hits him with a headbutt. Luchasaurus picks up Serpentico and throws him across the ring. He slams Serpentico on the middle of the ring. Luchasaurus puts on a modified snear trap to get the submission.

Winner – Luchasaurus

Christian gets into the ring and raises Luchasaurus’ hands. They get out of the ring but Christian tells Luchasaurus to attack Serpentico again. Luchasaurus pulls him out and hits him with a chokeslam.

Wardlow and Scorpio Sky are backstage with Tony Schiavone. Sky says he pinned Wardlow in their last match. Wardlow says he does not want to talk much and he is going to beat up whole of American Top Team and get through to hit to beat him. Sky sets up a TNT title match next week and it will be a street fight.

Max Caster & The Gunn Club(Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) vs Danhausen & FTR(Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club come out rapping and throwing insults at Danhausen. Danhausen comes out on the stage and says he has found his partner and they are pretty good at wrestling. It is FTR. FTR and Danhausen make their entrance.

Cash Wheeler starts with Austin with a lock up but quickly come to a stalemate. Austin hits a shoulder block and then trips Wheeler. Wheeler hits him with a backdrop and atomic drop. He hits an armdrag next. Dax comes in and hits chops in the corner before a suplex and a leg drop for a one-count. Danhausen tags in and hits an elbow drop on Austin. Austin sends him into the corner and hits him with kicks. Danhausen gets his boot up in the corner and then hits a hurricanrana. Colten and Caster are hit with hip-toss as they try to interfere. Austin nails Danhausen with a big punch from behind. We cut to a break.

Danhausen hits a Northern Light suplex on Caster as we return. Austin tags in quickly to stop Danhausen from tagging out. Caster hits Danhausen with a big shot. Danhausen ducks under Austin to tag to Dax. Dax swings at Caster and Austin. Cash comes in and FTR hit German suplexes on Austin and Colten. Cash clotheslines Colten to the floor. Dax hits more German suplexes on Austin.

Austin counters but botches a neckbreaker. Both men are down in the ring now. Danhausen asks for a tag and Dax tags him. Danhausen hits a pump kick on Austin. He goes for Good Night but Billy Gunn distracts the referee. Anthony Bowens gets into the ring with his crutch. Danhausen ducks him and Bowens ends up knocking out Austin with his crutch. Dax pulls out Bowens and Danhausen pins Austin.

Winner – FTR & DanhausenLuchasaurus

After the match, FTR destroy Bowens’ wheelchair as they exit with Danhausen. In the ring, Billy Gunn sides with the Acclaimed as they argue with Austin and Colten.

Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal are mad at Samoa Joe for not showing up this week. Dutt tells Joe to sign on a dotted line for ROH TV title match against Lethal. Satnam Singh says Lethal is going to kill Joe.

Jade Cargill(c) vs Leila Gray – AEW TBS Women’s Championship

Jade hits knees to midsection before she hits body slam. Leila gets her boots up as Jade charges at her. Jade hits her with a fallaway slam. Leila catches Jade with a roll up as Jade was showing off to crowd. Leila hits some shots in the corner. Jade drops her with a pump kick and then hits the Jaded to get the pin.

Winner – Jade Cargill

Jade snatches the mic away from Stokeley Hathaway and tells him to get some real competition for her next time. Stokeley calls out Athena and Kris Statlander. Statlander and Athena attack Jade and Keira Hogan. Leila Grey helps out Jade and Hogan to counter the attack.

The Young Bucks cut a promo and say they do not have any friends with them this week. They talk about Forbidden Door still being open and tells us about Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi wanting a shot at their titles. Bucks says there will be a non-title tag team match at Rampage this week, and Bishamon would get a title shot if they beat the Bucks.

Jericho Appreciation Society vs Blackpool Combat Club – Blood & Guts Match

Sammy Guevara is starting for JAS. Castagnoli is starting from BCC’s side. They stare down from the opposite rings. Claudio slams Guevara into the corner and hits running uppercuts. He whips Sammy to the opposite corner and hits another running uppercut. Sammy sends him to the corner but Claudio hits him with more uppercuts. Claudio rips off his Sammy’s vest and hits him with a big chop.

Sammy tries to run away to the top of the rope. Claudio brings him down on the ropes. Sammy jumps off the ropes to the other ring to avoid more attack. Claudio catches him and Sammy counters a pop-up uppercut with a cutter. Sammy kisses Tay Conti from the cage. Claudio puts him in the swing. Daniel Garcia comes into the match and attacks Claudio to take us to the break.

Garcia and Sammy are beating up Claudio in the corner. Yuta comes in and hits a leaping elbow strike on Sammy. He hits German suplexes on Garcia. Sammy gets up and he also gets hit with German suplexes. Claudio assists with an uppercut on the last German suplex. BCC chokes their neck with their vests for a while. Hager gets in now and catches Yuta’s dive to hit him with body slam. Claudio throws Garcia into the other ring as Hager does the same to Yuta. Claudio and Hager face-off before starting their brawl. Claudio hits an uppercut and takes Hager to the corner. Sammy and Garcia join the attack on Claudio and keep him engaged for a while. Yuta hits a dropkick on Sammy.

Jon Moxley enters the match and throws a chair at Hager. He beats up Sammy and Garcia in the corner. Claudio hits a bulldog on Hager on the steel step. Mox rakes Garcia’s face into the steel cage. Yuta hits Sammy with drop teo hold on the steel chair. Garcia is split open as Mox was using a fork on his face. Mox and Yuta hit Hart Attack on Garcia. Claudio and Mox hit assisted cutter on Sammy before Yuta hits him with a splash.

Angelo Parker gets into the ring but runs across the ring to avoid any attack. He keeps running here and there until Claudio catches him with a gutwrench suplex. Yuta hits him with a Michinoku driver. A pinball city of Uppercuts on Parker from BCC. Hager hits knees to Claudio’s midsection. Parker hits a shoulder tackle in the corner. Hager hits Claudio’s ankle with a steel chair. Yuta is hit with a shotgun dropkick by Garcia. Hager slams a steel chair on Claudio’s back. Ortiz gets into the ring now and hits clotheslines on every opponent in quick succession. We cut to a break.

Moxley has chunk of glasses with him and he is using them on his opponents during the break. BCC is down as Matt Menard enters the ring. He hits every opponent with steel chair. A double DDT on Ortiz from Parker and Menard. A piledriver on Yuta follows. Mox’s head is split open again. Yuta slams Garcia with a steel chair. Menard is raking Mox’s face against the cage. Garcia puts on a choke on Yuta.

A table is brought in as Ortiz enters the match. Ortiz also brings in barbed wire bat. Ortiz hits chops on Menard. He hits a Saito Suplex on Menard. He has hit an Urinage on Garcia but he has hurt his leg. Parker slams Yuta’s face into corner camera. Claudio hits an uppercut on Sammy. Moxley uses the skewers on Menard, but Menard brings him down with a low blow.

Chris Jericho enters the match as the final member for JAS. Jericho hits Claudio with baseball bat. Ortiz hits him with a DDT and chokes him with steel chair. Sammy hits a flying cutter on Ortiz. Yuta hits Sammy with a German suplex and then does the same to Menard. Hager hits a spinebuster on Ortiz. Claudio hits a slam on Hager to drop him. Garcia eats an uppercut from Hager. Jericho hits Codebreaker on Claudio.

Eddie Kingston enters the match with a kendo stick. He nails all the other members with kendo stick until he gets through to Jericho. Jericho is trying to escape the cage. Eddie breaks kendo stick on him. Eddie has rubbing alcohol in his hands but Hager tackles Jericho into the cage. Ortiz hits others with a steel chair. Tay Conti pushes a bottle of rubbing alcohol through the cage. Eddie throws a chair on Hager’s face. Garcia is hit with doomsday device from Yuta and Moxley. Eddie and Ortiz sends Hager through a table.

Moxley and Yuta spread thumbtacks in the ring. Claudio removes the padding of the other ring. Moxley drops Menard on the thumbtacks. Guevara sends Claudio into the cage with a hurricanrana. We cut to another break. During the break, Mox puts Menard in a bulldog choke. Jericho sprays rubbing alcohol on Mox’s open wounds and hits him with Judas Effect to drop him on the thumbtacks. Jericho hits a DDT on thumbtacks. Garcia is hanging upside down on the outside.

Jericho drags Moxley through the thumbtacks before putting him in the Liontamer. Eddie picks up some thumbtacks and throws them into Jericho’s eyes. Eddie unloads on Jericho now. Jericho sprays him with fire extinguisher. Conti drops the referee and takes the keys to open the cage. Ruby Soho comes out to attack Conti. Jericho climbs the cage. Eddie follows him to the top. Eddie unloads on Jericho, bites his face and then hits him with a back fist. Sammy also gets to the top now and attacks him from behind. The action is slowed down as everyone is exhausted. Kingston hits a low blow on Sammy. Eddie throws Sammy from the top of the cage into a table on the floor. We cut to another break.

Jericho and Eddie are trading shots on top of the cage. Jericho puts on the Walls of Jericho on Eddie. Claudio climbs up the cage and hits a running boot on Jericho. Menard also climbs to the top now. Claudio swings Jericho on top of the cage and slams him on the steel rails. Menard attacks Claudio. Claudio blocks his move and puts him in the sharpshooter. Eddie puts Jericho in a stretch. Menard gives up in the sharpshooter.

Winners – Blackpool Combat Club

Eddie is not happy with the outcome as Jericho did not give up. Claudio screams as he celebrates the win. Eddie is still not happy. Ortiz, Yuta and Moxley join them on the top to close the show as Eddie raises Claudio’s hand half heartedly.
