Viviane Araujo vs Jennifer Maia Set for UFC Vegas 81 on Oct 14

Viviane Araujo is set to face a different opponent at different event following Casey O’Neill’s withdrawal from UFC 293.

Viviane Araujo was first scheduled to face Casey O’Neill at UFC 293 event on September 9 in Sydney, but the bout was reportedly canceled last week due to O’Neill’s injury. O’Neill confirmed the withdrawl via Twitter and revealed that she underwent surgery last Friday.

Now, according to the report from MMA Junkie, Araujo will face a new opponent in Jennifer Maia, and their bout is now scheduled for UFC Vegas 81 event on October 14th.

Jennifer Maia is currently on a two-fight winning streak. Maia’s most recent bout was against O’Neill itself at UFC 286 event in London, where she won by unanimous decision. Before O’Neill, Maia defeated Maryna Moroz to break her two fights losing streak against Minon Fiorot and Katylyn Chookigan.

Viviane Araujo is currently on a two-fight losing streak. Araujo’s recent loss came at UFC 285 event against Amanda Ribas, where she lost by unanimous decision. Before Ribas, Araujo also lost to Alexa Grasso.

UFC Vegas 81 event is scheduled for October 14, 2023, at Apex Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Recently, a flyweight bout was also added in which David Dvořák will face Tatsuro TairaSet.
