Val Woodburn to Make UFC Debut vs Bo Nickal at UFC 290

Bo Nickal has a new opponent for UFC 290 PPV in UFC debutant Val Woodburn, or Valentine Woodburn, who comes into the fight on just a 4-day notice.

Val Woodburn has replaced Tresean Gore who was forced off the card due to injury in a Middleweight bout at UFC 290. Ariel Helwani originally reported Gore’s withdrawal. Although the nature of injury has not been disclosed.

The news about Woodburn coming on UFC 290 card was reported by Eurosports’s Marcel Droff on Twitter.

Val Woodburn will debut in UFC with this bout. Woodburn has secured seven consecutive victories without being defeated in MMA career so far. Woodburn has also won the Combat Night MMA Middleweight Championship during this time.

Woodburn was supposed to face Marco Tulio Silva at Dana White’s Contender Series 2023 season on August 29. Silva will need a new fighter now.

The former three-time NCAA champion, Bo Nickal’s recent fight was against Jamie Pickett at UFC 285, where he made a debut at UFC. He won that fight via submission in first round itself.

UFC 290 is set to take place on July 8, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, featuring Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez clash in a featherwieght title unification bout.
