UFC Vegas 84: Hafez Out, Matthew Semelsberger Faces Preston Parsons

A bout is changed at UFC Vegas 84 event with Matthew Semelsberger coming in to face Preston Parsons.

Parsons was set to face Bassil Hafez in a welterweight bout. MMA Journalist James Lynch has reported through Parsons that Hafez has pulled out of the bout. Parsons will now face Semelsberger on January 13, 2024 Fight Night event.

Parsons has had just 3 fights since 2021 due to a broken hand that he suffered during his first UFC victory over Evan Elder in April 2022. He returned to face Trevin Giles at UFC San Antonio 2023 Fight Night, but suffered a split decision loss to take his UFC record to 1 win and 2 losses.

Matthew Semelsberger has 5 wins and 2 losses in UFC so far, but he lost both his bouts in 2023. First, he lost to Jeremiah Wells via split decision at UFC Vegas 72 event in April. Later, he got knocked out by Uros Medic at UFC 291 prelims card.
