UFC Vegas 70: Ailin Perez vs Hailey Cowan Nixed due to Cowan’s Illness

A women’s bantamweight bout is nixed from the match card of the UFC Vegas 70 event. 

Ailin Perez vs Hailey Cowan will not take place at UFC Vegas 70 anymore as Hailey Cowan withdrew from this bout due to illness.

This bout was supposed to be the UFC debut of Hailey Cowan. But, now she has to wait for a little extra to have her inaugural UFC match. 

On Friday at UFC Vegas 70 Weigh-ins, Perez successfully weighed 135 pounds. However, then she came to know that her bout with Cowan was canceled as the latter didn’t step on the scale. 

Hailey Cowan earned her way to UFC by defeating Claudia Leite at the Dana White Contender Series. On the other hand, Ailin Perez recently made her UFC debut last year in September. However, she lost that match against Stephanie Egger via second-round submission. 

Now, it remains to be seen whether UFC will reschedule Hailey Cowan vs Ailin Perez or not. For now, UFC Vegas 70 will proceed with 11 bouts and will be headlined by Nikita Krylov vs Ryan Spann light heavyweight bout.
