On January 19, 2024, Twitter Account MMA Melotte reported that Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Iasmin Lucindo strawweight bout was reported for UFC 301 which was expected to take place in Rio De Janeiro in Brazil. This was the first report or mention of this event. UFC officially announced the event in February 2024.

On March 15, 2024, UFC announced that Alexandre Pantoja would defend UFC Flyweight Championship against Steve Erceg.

Ismail Bonfim vs Vinc Pichel lightweight bout was booked for UFC Sao Paulo Fight Night event in November 2023. However, Bonfim came in 3.5 lbs above the lightweight weight limit, and the bout was canceled. The bout was later announced to be rebooked at this event.
