Freak MMA Twitter account was the first to report the news that Yusuff and Lopes are scheduled to face each other in a featherweight bout at the UFC event on April 13, 2024. Subsequently, UFC officially confirmed the matchup.
Sodiq Yusuff’s most recent bout took place at UFC Vegas 81 event, where he experienced a defeat against Edson Barboza via unanimous decision. The loss against Barboza concluded Yusuff’s two-fight winning streak.
Before the contest with Barboza, Yusuff secured a victory over Don Shainis at UFC Vegas 61 event, winning via submission. As of now, Yusuff holds the 12th position in the featherweight rankings in UFC.
Diego Lopes is presently on a two-fight winning streak. In his most recent match at UFC 295 event, he achieved victory by knocking out Pat Sabatini. Before the fight against Sabatini, Lopes secured another win by submitting Gavin Tucker at UFC Nashville event.
UFC 300 PPV event is set for April 13, 2024, at T-Moile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Among several high profile on the card, Kayla Harrison is set to make her UFC debut at the event against Holly Holm in a bantamweight bout.
