Serhiy Sidey and Ramon Taveras are both poised to make their UFC debut by facing each other in a rematch at UFC 297 event.

Dana White announced on Tuesday during the press conference after Contender Series week 10 event that Sidey and Taveras are set to clash in a bantamweight division bout at the UFC’s January 20 event.

The pair previously clashed during Dana White’s Contender Series 2023 season during week 5 where Sidey came out victorious via stoppage. However, it was a consensus that the stoppage came quicker, and Tavares was invited back on week 10 where he defeated Cortavious Romious to earn UFC contract.

Serhiy Sidey is on an impressive six-fight winning streak. Prior to his win over Tavares at DWCS season, Sidey defeated Ali Wasuk at BFL 77 event.

Before his two bouts in DWCS this year, Tavares was also on a 4-fight winning streak. All of his bouts before this came in Combat Nights Promotion where he also became the bantamweight champion.

UFC 297 PPV event is set to take place on January 20, 2023, and it will be broadcast live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A women’s bantamweight bout between Gillian Robertson and Polyana Viana was also reported yesterday for this event.
