Israel Adesanya is set to go on a hiatus after losing the UFC Middleweight Title at UFC 293

The former champion recently had an interview with Combat Sports UK where he was talking about Kamaru Usman moving to the middleweight division to face Khamzat Chimaev. He was told that the winner of this fight might get the title shot instead of him.

Adesanya replied by saying that UFC moves differently, but again, if he wanted, he would have gotten the rematch. He then added that he had 4 title fights in the last fourteen months, and was the most active champion on the UFC roster.

As a result, now Israel Adesanya will take time to look after himself and heal his injuries, and hence he will not fight for a long time. Adesanya also made it clear that he is planning to make a blockbuster comeback after this time off.

Adesnaya lost the UFC Middleweight Title to Sean Strickland via unanimous decision at UFC 293. After a week, he gave the credit to Strickland and his team as they never let Adesanya match his rhythm.

Now it will be interesting to see when The Last Style Bender returns inside the octagon.
