Road to UFC 2023 Episode 1 Results Live, May 27, 2023
Road to UFC returned with another season in 2023 where UFC holds tournaments to find new Asian Prospects to sign. We were here to post results from Road to UFC 2023 episode 1 which took place on May 27, 2023, live from UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, China.
5 bouts were announced for the show – 4 from the flyweight and featherweight tournaments and 1 flyweight bout. The event was headlined by a featherweight quarterfinal bout between Japan’s Keisuke Sasu and South Korea’s Sang Won Kim. Sasu was part of Road to UFC in 2022 season but lost in the first round. Was it the case in 2023 also?
China’s Zha Yi was also returning to Road to UFC after losing in the final of 2022 season. He faced China’s Wuziazibieke Jiahefu who had 41 fights experience. Former LFA and Bellator competitor Mark Climaco was in the co-main event as he took on South Korea’s Jung Hyun Lee in the flyweight tournament quarterfinal bout. Rei Tsuruya vs Ronal Siahaan was the other flyweight quarterfinal bout.
A flyweight bout outside the tournament was also scheduled between Topnoi Kiwram and Nyamjargal Tumendemberel. Check below for all the results from Road to UFC 2023 Episode 1.
