LFA 163 event was live on July 21, 2023, from Bell County Expo Center in Belton, TX, with the featherweight title bout in the main event.

Elijah Johns and Javier Garcia clashed over the vacant title in the headliner. Both men were long-time LFA fighters but appeared in LFA for the first time this year. Johns was last seen beating Masuto Kawana at LFA 138, while Garcia was last active to beat Leandro Gomez at LFA 137.

A lightweight bout between William Starks and LFA debutant Johnny Hopper were booked in the co-main event. Both Landry Ward and Matheus Pereira debut in LFA in a featherweight bout. The coverage started on UFC Fight Pass with main card at 9 PM ET.
