Jessica Andrade vs Lauren Murphy Set for UFC 283 in Jan 2023
According to the latest reports, Jessica Andrade vs Lauren Murphy women’s flyweight bout has been added to UFC 283 PPV event which will take place in January next year.
MMAFighting’s Damon Martin was the first one to report this news which was later confirmed by several other sources as well.
Lauren Murphy is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Miesha Tate. Before that, Valentina Shevchenko snapped her five-fight winning streak when she competed for the women’s flyweight title at UFC 266.
On the other hand, Jessica Andrade is coming off a first-round submission victory against Amanda Lemos. Before that, she defeated Cynthia Calvillo via first-round TKO. Andrade’s last loss also came against Valentina Shevchenko when she tried to win the women’s flyweight title but failed.
Murphy must be looking forward to defeating another former UFC champion whereas Andrade will try to continue her winning momentum. The winner of this bout will get one step closer to getting another shot at the UFC women’s flyweight title.
UFC 281 will take place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on January 21, 2023. The headliner bout of this event is yet to be announced.
