Ian Machado Garry has a new opponent for UFC 292 PPV in Neil Magny with just 10 days notice.

The development comes after Garry’s original opponent Goef Neal pulled out of the bout. The news about Neal’s withdrawal came on Wednesday afternoon which was blamed on some medical issues.

Garry himself confirmed the news on Twitter, writing that Neal has “bitched” out of their bout, but he would still show up at the event. By Wednesday evening, Garry also confirmed the change in opponent via Twitter.

MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn confirmed that Neil Magny will replace Goef Neal to face Garry now. Garry posted the video from UFC on ABC 4 post-match interview where he called out Magny for a bout. He captioned the video, “I always get what I want”.

Garry is coming off a win over Daniel Rodriguez at UFC on ABC 4(UFC Charlotte) event in May. That win continued his 12 fights unbeaten run in MMA, and a 5-fight streak in UFC. This will be Garry’s third fight this year after he also beat Song Kenan at UFC 285. His previous victims in UFC include Gabriel Green, Darian Weeks and Jordan Williams.

This will be this year’s third fight for Neil Magny also. He lost to Gilbert Burns at UFC 283 PPV via first-round submission. He has since defeated Phil Rowe at UFC Jacksonville Fight Night in June. This will Magny’s 31st UFC fight overall.

UFC 292 is set for August 19, 2023, in Boston, MA. Aljamain Sterling vs Sean O’Malley bout for bantamweight title headlines the card.
