Edgar Chairez vs Daniel Lacerda Rematch Set for UFC Vegas 81
Edgar Chairez vs Daniel Lacerda’s fight is reportedly set for a rematch at UFC Vegas 81 event in October 2023.
According to the report from MMA Fighting, Chairez and Lacerda are set to clash in a flyweight bout on UFC’s October 14 event in Vegas.
Chairez and Lacerda have recently faced each other at Noche UFC last weekend. However, the fight was declared a no-contest due to a premature stoppage by referee Chris Tognoni. Chairez had Lacerda in a standing guillotine choke in the first round when the referee stopped the bout.

Lacerda protested the stoppage and Tognoni’s call was deemed incorrect in review. Chairez’s submission victory was then overturned into a no-contest.
Edgar Chairez has competed in just one other UFC match before, which took place at the UFC 290 event. In that bout, he faced Tatsuro Taira and suffered a unanimous decision loss. Chairez Pro MMA’s record stands for 10-5-0.
Daniel Lacerda was on a four-fight losing streak before the no-contest. His previous defeat came at the hands of CJ Vergara at the UFC on ESPN 43 event, where he lost by KO. Before the Vergara fight, Lacerda also faced defeats against Victor Altamirano, Francisco Figueiredo, and Jeff Molina.
UFC Vegas 81 event is scheduled for October 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, featuring a Featherweight Bout between Edson Barboza and Sodiq Yusuff.
