Daniel Rodriguez vs Santiago Ponzinibbio Set for Noche UFC
A new welterweight bout is reported for Noche UFC event as Daniel Rodriguez will face Santiago Ponzinibbio.
The news is coming from First Round Management’s AJ Ariosa, who manages Rodriguez. Ariosa tweeted that their client Rodriguez is back in action as he will face Ponzinibbio in a welterweight bout at UFC’s Mexican Independence Day event.

Daniel Rodriguez is on a two-fight losing streak after three win in a row prior to that. Rodriguez’s recent bout was against Ian Machado Garry at UFC on ABC 4 event in May this year, where he lost by KO.
Santiago Ponzinibbio has lost three fights and won two in his five recent bouts. Ponzinibbio’s recent fight came against Kevin Holland at UFC 287 event where he lost by KO. Before that, he beat Alex Morono at UFC 282 in December last year.
UFC’s Mexican Independence Day Fight Night event is scheduled for September 16, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Alexa Grasso is set to face Valentina Shevchenko to defend the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship.
The event will also feature several Mexican fighters on the undercard like Daniel Zellhuber, Edgar Cháirez, and Lupita Godinez, apart from a co-main event bout between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Kelvin Gastelum.
