Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov To Headline UFC Nashville
The main event of UFC Nashville Fight Night event is now revealed to be a bantamweight bout between Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov.
UFC President Dana White officially announced this bout via social media along with announcements for UFC Singapore and UFC Paris headliners. UFC Nashville Fight Night is set to take place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on August 5, 2023.
Sandhagen has won his last two fights against Song Yadong and Marlon Vera. Both these fights were headliner bouts. Prior to these two losses, Sanghagen lost to Petr Yan at UFC 267 in an interim bantamweight title bout. That was his second loss in a row after losing to former champion TJ Dillashaw.

Umar Nurmagomedov is the younger cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Just like his cousin, Umar has also been unbeaten in his MMA career thus far. Under UFC banner, Umar has beaten Sergey Morozov, Brian Kelleher, Nate Maness and Raoni Barcelos since his promotional debut in 2021.
Although several bouts are reported for UFC Nashville card, this is the first one to be made official by UFC. Some of the reported bouts include two light heavyweight bouts in Dustin Jacoby vs Kennedy Nzechukwu, and Oliver St. Preux vs Ion Cutelaba. Said Nurmagomedov vs Kyler Phillips bout was also reported for the event earlier.
