Cody Durden Out of UFC Vegas 79 Event, Not Cleared Medically
Cody Durden will not be competing in his scheduled bout against Bruno Silva, which was originally planned for September at UFC Vegas 79 event.
As per Marcel Dorff’s report, Durden pulled out of the Silva fight due to not receiving medical clearance after his bout at UFC Nashville.
Durden and Silva were booked in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 79. Durden then accepted a bout against Jake Hadley at UFC Nashville as a late replacement where he came out victorious.

Unfortunate news. Cody Durden is not medically cleared to fight on September 23rd against Bruno Silva. The fight is cancelled for #UFCVegas79. No word on a possible replacement at the moment. pic.twitter.com/zR7MwESpFN
It’s unclear whether Bruno Silva will be absent from the event or if a replacement opponent will be organized for his scheduled match.
Cody Durden is currently on a four-fight winning streak. Before Hadley, Durden also defeated Charles Johnson, Carlos Mota, and JP Buys.
Bruno Silva is presently on a run of three consecutive victories, having recently secured a first-round technical victory against Tyson Nam. Before that, he achieved victories against both Victor Rodriguez and JP Buys.
UFC Vegas 79 is scheduled for September 23, 2023, at UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, NV. Recently, two more bouts were officially added to the event: Andre Fialho and Tim Means will clash in a welterweight bout, and Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez are set to clash in a strawweight bout.
