First Round Management, who represent Almabayev, announced the bout against Vergara via their social media handles. Almabayev and Vergara are geared up for a flyweight division showdown at the UFC event scheduled for March 9, 2024.
CJ Vergara has won his last two fights. In his most recent match at UFC 291 event, he secured a unanimous decision victory against Vinicius Salvador. Before facing Salvador, he scored a knockout win over Daniel Lacerda. Currently, Vergara holds a UFC record of 3 wins, 2 losses, and no draws.
Assu Almabayev has won 14 consecutive fights, with one victory secured in UFC. He made his UFC debut at UFC Nashville Fight Night in August this year. He defeated Ode Osbourne via submission, which also earned him the Performance of the Night award.
