Christian Rodriguez vs Cameron Saaiman UFC 290

A bantamweight bout between two young fighters is in work for UFC 290 PPV in International fight week.

Eurosport’s Marcel Dorff reports that Dana White Contender Series graduates Christian Rodriguez(9-1) vs Cameron Saaiman(8-0) is in work for UFC 290 at 135 lbs. The event takes place on July 8, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Contender Rodriguez got UFC contract by beating Junior Cortez in 2021 DWCS season. Saaiman was part of 2022 season where he defeated Josh Wang-Kim to earn the contract.

Christian Rodriguez made his UFC debut in 2022 with a decision loss against Jonathan Pearce, which was his first career loss. He has followed up with wins in his next two bouts. He defeated Joshua Weems via first-round submission in October at a Fight Night event before he upset UFC prodigy Raul Rosas Jr. on UFC 287 PPV main card via unanimous decision.

Cameron Saaiman made his UFC debut in late 2022 at UFC 282 by beating Steven Koslow via TKO late in the third round. He has followed up with a decision win over Mana Martinez.

UFC 290 is headlined by Alexander Volkanovski vs Yair Rodriguez featherweight title unification bout. Brandon Moreno vs Alexander Pantoja flyweight title bout is the co-main event.
