Carl Deaton III to Debut vs Joe Solecki at UFC Vegas 70
Carl Deaton III is ready to make his UFC Debut at the age of 33 at UFC Vegas 70.
Joe Solecki was earlier supposed to face Benoît Saint-Denis at UFC Vegas 69. However, Saint-Denis is now out of the fight. Carl Deaton III will replace him but the bout is postponed a week later to UFC Vegas 70.
MMA Junkie first reported the news. Deaton and his father confirmed the same on their Facebook Pages. Deaton will join the list of more than 40 fighters who will make their UFC debuts in 2023.
Associated with American Top Team, Deaton has fought in King of the Cage and several other regional MMA promotions. Deaton also fought on PFL 2021 Playoffs undercard, where he suffered a split decision loss to Alejandro Flores. His overall MMA record stands at 17-5.
Joe Solecki is currently 4-1 in UFC after coming through Dana White Contender Series 2019. He stringed 3 wins in a row since his promotions debut, including a win over Jim Miller. He suffered in first loss in UFC against Jared Gordon in October 2021. He defeated Alex da Silva in his latest UFC appearance in June 2022.
UFC Vegas 70 is scheduled for February 25, 2023, at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas, NV. A light heavyweight bout between Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann will headline the event.
