Bryce Mitchell vs Dan Ige To Co-Headline UFC Vegas 79 on Sept 23
Bryce Mitchell and Dan Ige will clash in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 79 event on September 23, 2023.
The news was revealed by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto via UFC President Dana White. Mitchell and Ige will feature in a featherweight bout. Okamoto also revealed that Rafael Fiziev vs Mateusz Gamrot lightweight bout will headline the event.
Bryce Mitchell suffered the first loss of his career when he faced Ilja Topuria at UFC 282 in December last year via submission. Mitchell won 15 bouts in a row along with 6 bouts in UFC prior to this loss. He beat some experienced fighters like Edson Barboza and Andre Fili during this run.

Mitchell was set to feature at UFC 288. However, first, his opponent Jonathan Pearce pulled out before Mitchell himself had to withdraw due to a back injury.
Dan Ige has bounced back from his 3 fights losing streak and has won his last 2 fights. He beat Nate Landwehr at UFC 289 after breaking his losing streak by beating Damon Jackson in January this year. Ige’s overall UFC record stands at 9-5.
Both men are currently ranked in top 15 of UFC featherweight rankings. Mitchell is at #12 while Ige is at #13 in the rankings.
