Anthony Smith vs Ryan Spann Set for UFC Singapore event
Ranked light heavyweights Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann are set to clash in a rematch at UFC Singapore Fight Night event.
The bout was first reported by MMA Junkie for UFC Singapore on August 26, 2023. Later, UFC also confirmed the bout between Smith and Spann for the event.
Anthony Smith defeated Ryan Spann via submission when they headlined UFC Fight Night event on September 18, 2021. Both fighters have had different results since that encounter.

Smith has lost both his fights since that match against Spann. He first lost to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 277 via second-round TKO. His recent fight was against Johnny Walker at UFC on ABC: Rozenstruik vs Almeida event, where he lost via unanimous decision. Smith is currently Ranked 7 in the UFC Light Heavyweight division.
Ryan Spann won two fights in a row after losing to Smith. The wins came against Ion Cutelaba in May 2022, and Dominik Reyes at UFC 281. But, he is coming off a loss in his most recent bout against Nikita Krylov at UFC Fight Night: Yan vs. Dvalishvili event, where he lost via submission in round 1. Spann is currently Ranked 10 in the UFC Light Heavyweight division.
UFC Singapore is currently set to be headlined by a featherweight bout between Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung.
