UFC has revealed the main event of UFC Singapore Fight Night on August 26, 2023.

UFC President Dana White announced several upcoming fight nights and bouts via social media as it has been the case several times this year. He confirmed the rumoured UFC Singapore Fight Night to take place in August. He also announced that Max Holloway will face “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in the headliner bout.

Max Holloway earlier challenged Chang-Sung for the fight in the post-match press conference of UFC Kansas City in April where he defeated Arnold Allen. That win over Arnold was his third in the last four fights. The other two wins came against top-ranked opponents Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez.

Former UFC Featherweight Champion, Holloway has actually lost three fights in his last six matches and all these losses have come against one man, the reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski. Holloway is ranked as the #1 contender in UFC featherweight rankings, but a fourth fight against Volkanovski is unlikely to take place.

The two-time title challenger, Chang-Sung Jung is also coming off a loss against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273 in April 2022. He was sidelined in the past year due to an injury. Chang-Sung has won three fights in his five recent UFC bouts.

The three fights that he has won have come against Dan Ige, Frankie Edgar, and Renato Moicano. The only loss came against Brian Ortega in October 2020.

UFC’s event in Singapore will be airing from Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang. Two more bouts were previously reported for the event in the form of Rinya Nakamura vs Fernie Garcia, and Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Łukasz Brzeski.
