WWE WrestleMania 39: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Defeat The Usos to Become New Undisputed Tag Team Champions

The friendship prevails over the blood as Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defeated The Usos to become the new undisputed tag team champions in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 39 Night 1.

Storyline

One of the biggest tag team match in the history of WWE would go down at WrestleMania 39 as The Usos vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn headline night 1. Sami Zayn betrayed the Bloodline at Royal Rumble in order to save Kevin Owens. Jey Uso walked away from the Bloodline when they brutalized Sami afterward. Sami asked for Kevin Owens to come on board in his plan to destroy The Bloodline, but the Prize Fighter wanted to do nothing with him despite his change of heart. After a few weeks, Jey Uso finally decided to take sides with his family and attacked Sami Zayn. 

Cody Rhodes became the catalyst and tried to reunite Zayn & KO. The latter finally joined the party when he saved Sami Zayn from the attack of The Usos. Both Zayn & KO challenged The Usos for the undisputed WWE tag team titles at WrestleMania 39, and the champs accepted. The Friends vs The Blood: Who will prevail at WrestleMania?

Live Update

Lil Uzi Vert came out and sings a bit before the Undisputed WWE tag team champions The Usos make their entrance. Kevin Owens comes out to his entrance followed by Sami Zayn who receives a huge pop from the crowd. 

Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso are about to start things. However, Jimmy tags Jey to kick things off. Jey puts Sami in a neck lock and then drops him with a shoulder tackle. Jey tries to do the same again, but this time Sami jumps on him and hits him with a fury of punches. 

Jey Uso sends Sami outside where he is assaulted by both Jey & Jimmy. Jey hits him with a suplex before getting him back inside the ring. He distracts the referee and Jimmy hits Sami with a kick. Jey tags Jimmy in and he plays with Sami a little before hitting KO with a cheap shot. Jey gets the tag again and he puts Sami in a neck lock. 

Sami fights back and hits Jey with a kick before sending him outside the ring. Sami Zayn finally makes the tag and Kevin climbs to the top rope before wasting any time and takes out the Usos with a Swanton. He hits a frog splash on Jimmy from the apron. He climbs to the top rope again and hit Jey Uso with another frog splash to get a near fall. 

Jey finally counters KO and hits him with a neck breaker to break his momentum. KO is on the top rope, Jimmy makes the tag to Jey before KO sends him to the ring. KO goes for the Swanton but Jey blocks it with his knees and Jimmy instantly hits him with the Usos splash. 

Now, there is a back-and-forth action as Sami Zayn takes out Jey Uso with a brainbuster on the apron. KO hits Jimmy with the Swanton before Sami hits him with the Usos splash for a near fall. Jimmy fights back and superkicks KO on the apron. Jimmy makes the tag before Sami hits him with the blue thunder powerbomb only to get hit by a superkick from Jey.

The Usos now start to punish Sami as they keep hitting him with the superkicks. Jimmy covers him but KO breaks the pinfall. Jey takes out KO with another superkick. The Usos then hit Sami Zayn with a double kick on the back of his neck. Jey Uso covers but Sami kicks out. 

Sami can’t even stand as The Usos measure him and hit him with another double kick for another near fall. The Usos then goes for the 1-D but KO stops Jimmy from the outside. Sami rolls up Jey for two-count. Meanwhile, KO tries to hit Jimmy with a powerbomb through the announce table, but Jey makes the save. The Usos double then slams Kevin Owens through the table. 

They get back to the ring and hits Sami Zayn with the 1-D, but Sami Zayn kicks out again. He also becomes the first person to kick out from the 1-D. Jey Uso talks to Sami and hits him with several slaps and punches. Jey then Sami hits Sami with a Helluva kick and holds him while trash-talking. Sami somehow use all his power and hit Jey with an exploder. 

Sami makes the tag to KO who enters the ring and hit the Usos with the pop-up powerbomb. Sami hits Jey with the Helluva Kick followed by a stunner from the KO. However, Jey Uso still kicks out. 

Both teams get back on their feet and stare at each other before involving in a brawl. Jimmy sends Sami out, KO hits him with a superkick. KO hits Jey with a superkick as well. Jimmy makes the tag and the Usos hit KO with double superkicks. The Usos climbs on the top rope and hits Kevin Owens with the Usos splash from different corners of the ring. But, it wasn’t enough to put KO down, as he still kicks out. The Usos are in disbelief. 

Jey tags Jimmy and they hit Kevin with double superkicks. They put KO to the second rope, but before they make their move, Sami Zayn slides Jimmy out of the ring and sends him across the announce table. Kevin Owens hits Jey with the brainbuster from the second rope. 

KO makes the tag to Sami, and the latter hits Jey Uso with two consecutive Hhelluva kicks. Jimmy enters the ring, but Kevin stops with a stunner. Sami Zayn hits Jey Uso with the third Helluva kick to finally get the pinfall and end the undefeated reign of the Usos.
