Welcome to the live results coverage for WWE SmackDown November 17, 2023, which will be live from Ontario, CA.

The show featured a #1 contender’s match for tag team championship with Pretty Deadly, The Brawling Brutes and the Street Profits being involved in the match. The winner was set to face Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Balor at SmackDown the following week.

LA Knight took on Jimmy Uso to take The Bloodline rivalry forward. Damage CTRL was announced for a segment on the show. Was it be related to War Games? Tune in below to find out as we cover the complete results.

RESULTS

  • The Street Profits(Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) defeated Pretty Deadly(Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) and The Brawling Brutes(Butch & Ridge Holland) in a 3-way match via pinfall to become #1 Contender for WWE Tag Team Championship.
  • Dragon Lee defeated Axiom in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Grayson Waller defeated Cameron Grimes in a singles match via pinfall.
  • LA Knight defeated Jimmy Uso in a singles match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

We see a recap of Kairi Sane’s arrival to WWE and how Asuka turned on team Bianca last week.

New & Improved

Damage CTRL group come out to the ring. Bayley takes the mic and says how great her plan was to bring in Asuka to new and improved Damage CTRL. She brags for a while before the Japanese trio of Asuka, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane talk in their language. Bayley is unable to understand and thinks they are mocking her. Dakota then plays translator and says Asuka is not part of new and improved Damage CTRL since she is not inducted to the group. She asks Bayley to do the honors.

Bayley gets on her knees and offers Asuka a Damage CTRL shirt. Asuka takes it. Dakota then announces that this group will fight in the women’s WarGames match to take on Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair and Shotzi. Shotzi’s music hits and her tank comes out by itself. Shotzi hits them with a crossbody from behind to start a brawl. Bianca and Flair also come out. But, Damage CTRL’s superior numbers allowed them to clear the ring and stand tall.


After the break, Bianca Belair is upset at the lack of coordination between them. She then asks Flair if she has someone in mind to add to their team in War Games match. Nick Aldis comes in and tells them that they need to tell him who the fourth member of their team will be.

Pretty Deadly vs The Street Profits vs The Brawling Brutes – 3-way match for #1 Contender for WWE Tag Team Championship

This is a triple threat match which means one fighter from each team will be legal. This leads to a wild start until The Street Profits gets the upper hand. Ford hits chops on Butch and then stomps on Prince. Dawkins comes in to hit German suplexes. Ford hits innovative clotheslines. Prince fights back and tags in Wilson for some double team. Holland gets the tag and hits big tackles and clotheslines. Brawling Brutes go for 10 Beats of Bothran on Pretty Deadly, but The Street Profits stops them. Brutes then hits Profits with 10 Beats of Bothran, taking us to a break.

Pretty Deadly and The Street Profits are working together on Holland. Holland mounts a fight back with double suplex on Wilson and Ford. Butch gets a hot tag and takes over the match. Bobby Lashley is watching the match from backstage where B-Fab joins him. Butch is still in control. Holland joins him in the attack to drop Pretty Deadly with double clotheslines.

Butch goes for a brogue kick on Wilson but catches Holland with it. The Street Profits come in clear the ring of Pretty Deadly and Butch. They hit their double-team finisher on Holland to get the pinfall.

After the match, Butch and Holland are both standing upset in the ring. Holland leaves to the back alone. Butch is alone in the ring.


Backstage, Bianca Belair and Michin are talking which is not audible to us.

After the break, we see Damage CTRL beating down Michin. WWE Crew comes in to stop them.


We see a video package for Santos Escobar’s turn on Rey Mysterio.

Dragon Lee talks to GM Aldis backstage and asks him for an opportunity to defend Rey Mysterio’s honor. Aldis instead tells him that he got Axiom from NXT to show the world what Lucha Libre is.

Axiom vs Dragon Lee

Axiom starts with a single-leg trip. They follow up with quick back and forth before Lee hits a sunset flip to get a two-count. Lee hits a side headlock takedown to get a two-count. Axiom is sent to the floor and Lee hits a suicide dive turned into a missile dropkick. Back to the ring, he hits another dropkick in the corner.

Axiom hits an armdrag as we return and follows up with a dropkick to send Lee to the floor. He hits a moonsault on the floor before bringing the action back to the ring. Lee hits a dropkick on him also. They fight on the top rope now. Lee hits a superkick against the turnbuckle. He hits a double stomp after putting Axiom in a tree of woe. They trade chops before Axiom hits a dropkick. He ducks a clothesline to hit a release suplex.

Lee hits back with a brainbuster. Lee goes for a powerbomb but Axiom counters with a piledriver-like manuever. Axiom hits an enzuigiri after Lee goes to the top rope, and follows up with a Spanish Fly. Lee rolls him up and ends up hitting a one-handed powerbomb to get a near fall. Lee hits a running knee and Operation Dragon(Destino) to get the pinfall.

Escobar Speaks!

Santos Escobar comes out to the ring. He takes the mic amid heavy boos. He got to get some things off his chest. Boos only increase mixed with “You Suck” chants. “Never meet your heroes”, says Escobar. He comes from a family who are all labeled as heroes with rich Lucha Libre Tradition. Other members of LWO are watching backstage. Escobar says his wish was for everyone to see him as the next Rey Mysterio. But, after last week, Dominik was right about Rey down to a tee.

Escobar says he deserved to be the US Champion, wanted to revive LWO, but who did all these things. He talks to Carlito in Spanish. He then tells Rey that all of his pain should remind him of the betrayal from Rey to him. He addresses the fans and says he apologizes to the fans to not give Rey more pain. He wishes Rey does not ever come back. Zelina Vega has heard enough and walks out to the ring. Escobar continues to argue with her.

Zelina ends up slapping Escobar and leaves. Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde come out to console her. Escobar taunts them over choosing Zelina over him. They get into the ring to argue with Escobar. Escobar tells them that they are dead weight and should get out of the ring. They reply that Escobar is not that man. Escobar attacks them from behind when they are leaving. Carlito’s music hits and he walks out to the ring. Escobar gets out of the ring to end the segment.


We get a recap of how Kevin Owens was suspended last week after attacking Grayson Waller and Austin Theory when they instigate him on the commentary.

Cameron Grimes vs Grayson Waller

Grimes starts with a takedown. Grimes hits a dropkick. Waller hits an upkick. He rolls in to hit a rolling flatliner to get a two-count. Waller puts on a side headlock. Grimes breaks free and hits clotheslines and tackles. He hits a couple of roundhouse kicks and a low dropkick. Grimes hit an Urinage next. Waller rolls to the floor. Theory comes in to check on him. Grimes hits him with a kick. This gives Waller time to trip Grimes on the apron. Waller hits Dingo Driver to get the pinfall.

Backstage, Bianca Belair is talking to Zelina Vega.

After the break, Damage CTRL is standing on top of a laid-out Zelina Vega. Crew members run in to check on Vega.

Solo’s Acknowledgement & LA Knight’s Warning

Solo Sikoa is standing in the middle of the ring with Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman behindh him. Heyman takes the mic and welcomes to an impromptu acknowledgement ceremony for Solo after his win over John Cena. And the surprise of the night is that John Cena is not here all thanks to Solo. Heyman claims that Cena will never appear in WWE ring ever again. Cena can’t say this himself since he can’t speak all thanks to Solo(Samoan Spike). Cena does not have the heart to say good bye, but he gets to say good bye to Cena on behalf of The Tribal Chief and The Bloodline.

LA Knight’s music hits and he comes out. He points out that Roman is still the champion because of the Bloodline. Everyone knows this is the problem, so he will become the problem solver. The Bloodline will cease to exist as Jimmy, Solo and Heyman will all disappear one by one as he will make it that way. And that starts with Jimmy tonight.


Bianca Belair tells Charlotte Flair backstage that she needs to make that call as they have no more people left to team up with. Flair leaves the scene.

LA Knight vs Jimmy Uso

Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa are leaving ringside as Heyman has got a phone call. Knight unloads with punches to start the match. Knight hits a back body drop and an elevated DDT to get a two-count. Stomps in the corner from Knight before Jimmy rolls to the floor. Knight brings him back but Jimmy catches him with a kick on the ropes. Knight drops his face on the ropes before springboard tackle.

Knight hits more punches before a Samoan Drop from Jimmy. Jimmy wastes some time and this allows Knight to fight back with more punches. Jimmy hits some chops. Knight sends him to the floor with a back body drop. Knight slams Jimmy’s face on the announce table. Knight throws him over the announce table to take us to a break.

Jimmy hits an enzuigiri as we return to get a two-count. Jimmy drops Knight in the corner to set up a hip attack, but nobody is home. Knight hits more punches, avoids a Samoan Drop and hits a DDT. Both men are down. Knight hits clothesline, a flatliner, and an inverted bodyslam. Jimmy hits an enzuigiri from the ropes. Knight ducks a a crossbody after Jimmy pushes him off the ropes. BFT and superkick is blocked from both ends. Knight hits BFT in the second attempt to get the pinfall.

Solo Sikoa walks out after the match. Jimmy attacks Knight from behind. Solo then drops Knight with a Samoan Spike. Solo clears the announce table, but Cody Rhodes runs out to make the save. He slams Solo’s face into the ringpost and sends Jimmy into the steel steps. Knight and Cody stand tall in the ring. Solo stares them down from the ramp.


Bianca and Shotzi come to Charlotte Flair, asking her if she made the call. Flair says she made the call but she did not pick. Bianca says it is what it is and they have to go out like this itself.


GM Aldis meets Cody Rhodes and tells him to go away from SmackDown.

War Games Line-up

Bianca Belair, Shotzi and Charlotte Flair come out to the ring one by one. Flair says they accept Damage CTRL’s War Games challenge. Flair says she knows a thing or two about turning of a friend, and there is very thin line, but she needs only one person by her side for War Games. Damage CTRL come out again and Bayley tells them that they will not make it to Survivor Series. Becky Lynch runs through the crowd and joins Bianca, Flair and Shotzi. A brawl breaks out which ends with Flair hitting a double moonsault to drops everyone except Iyo Sky. The brawl starts once again after a few seconds to close the show.
