Welcome to the live results blog for WWE SmackDown February 3, 2023 episode which featured the fallout coming out of Royal Rumble 2023 event and the build-up for Elimination Chamber 2023 event.
The most anticipated question on everyone’s mind was – What will be next for Sami Zayn after he turned on Roman Reigns? We got the answer to that question as Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn match was announced for Elimination Chamber. But why did Roman agree to this match? Find out below.
Additionally, Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci took on Braun Strowman & Ricochet in the final of SmackDown Tag Team Championship tournament. Charlotte Flair defended SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sonya Deville on February 3 episode.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were after The Viking Raiders while The Vikings faced Butch and Ridge Holland. A fatal 4-way match was announced between Zelina Vega, Natalya, Shotzi and Shayna Baszler as the qualifier for RAW Women’s Championship Contender Elimination Chamber match.

WWE SmackDown February 3 Results
- Braun Strowman & Ricochet defeated Imperium(Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) in the Final of SmackDown Tag Team Championship via pinfall.
- Charlotte Flair(c) defeated Sonya Deville in a singles match via pinfall to retain WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.
- The Viking Raiders(Erik & Ivar) defeated The Brawling Brutes(Butch & Ridge Holland) in a tag team match via pinfall.
- Natalya defeated Shotzi, Zelina Vega & Shayna Baszler in a fatal 4-way match via submission to qualify for Women’s Elimination Chamber Match.
Live Updates
The show opens with a recap of how Sami stopped Roman from hitting Kevin Owens with a steel chair and then his Roman with it himself upon more provocation. We also see Jey Uso leaving and Sami getting beaten up by the Bloodline.
Roman Reigns arrives at the arena with Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. Roman passes by without answering the status of Jey Uso with The Bloodline. Heyman stops and says they can neither confirm and deny Jey’s status at this point. We cut to SmackDown opening package.
Braun Strowman & Ricochet vs Imperium(Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) – Final of SmackDown Tag Team Championship
We see Ricochet and Logan Paul’s midair collision in the Royal Rumble match as he makes his entrance with Braun Strowman. Gunther comes out with his Imperium buddies Vinci and Kaiser.
Strowman starts by pushing Vinci away. Kaiser tags in and distracts Strowman as Vinci comes in and catches his leg. Strowman easily fights them off and nails a uppercut on Vinci. Kaiser and Vinci regroup on the floor. Ricochet tags in and hits a dropkick and a lawbreaker on Kaiser. Vinci runs a distraction again, which helps Kaiser to drop Ricochet with an uppercut.
Strowman runs over Vinci with a running tackle. Kaiser goes for a suicide dive when Storwman was staring down with Gunther. Strowman catches Kaiser and Vinci hits him with a crossbody to drop him on the floor. We cut to a break.
Vinci slips off Strowman’s shoulder before Strowman misses a corner tackle. Imperium double team on Strowman to keep him down. Quick tags between Imperium duo to keep pressure on Strowman. Strowman fights off and hits a back body drop on Kaiser to tags in Ricochet. Ricochet hits a crossbody on Vinci and dropkick on Kaiser. He hits spring board senton before a running shooting star press on Vinci.
Vinci rakes his face before Imperium miss double-team attack in the corner. Strowman tackles Kaiser off the apron and Ricochet takes out Imperium with crossbody. Ricochet argues with Gunther and Gunther ends up pushing him. The referee sends Gunther to the back, Gunther taunts Strowman on his way out, driving him to the ramp. Vinci attacks Ricochet on his way back to the ring. Kaiser rolls Ricochet up for a near fall. We cut to another break.
Ricochet is hitting punches on Kaiser. Kaiser hits back with an uppercut. Imperium double team with a springboard crossbody and a penalty kick. They hit a double team dropkick on Strowman to knock him off the apron. Ricochet fights off the Imperium bomb. He hits an enzuigiri on Kaiser but Vinci hits a suplex. Strowman pulls Vinci out to break the pin.
Tags to Kaiser and Strowman. Strowman throws Kaiser around before tackling Vinci. He hits an uppercut on Kaiser before hitting him with a Monster Bomb. Ricochet climbs on Strowman’s shoulder to hit a Swanton Bomb on Kaiser to get the pinfall.
Winners – Braun Strowman & Ricochet
We get a video package of Rhea Ripley winning Royal Rumble match and later challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on RAW earlier this week. Flair is interviewed backstage now and says she is focused on Sonya Deville tonight. Sonya interrupts Flair for some trash talk.
We see Rey Mysterio and New Day at a Nascar race track when they get interrupted by Dominik Mysterio and Judgment Day. They talk trash before agreeing to a car race – Dominik vs Rey. They dress up in racing suits and start racing. Dominik leads the race for the most part before Rey takes him over at the last corner and gets the win. Dominik throws a tantrum upon losing.
Charlotte Flair(c) vs Sonya Deville – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
They circle the ring before locking up. Flair throws Sonya over and then hits her with a tackle. Flair comes with a waistlock takedown and puts on an arm wringer. Sonya turns it around before Flair hits her with a big boot. Flair hits a crossbody off the top. Flair misses a corner splash. Flair nails a big shot on Sonya but Sonya fires back with a forearm herself to drop Flair and takes us to a break.
Sonya hits a knee strike as we return. Flair throws her over to break a chin lock and nails Sonya with forearm. Sonya hits a kick to the knee. Flair nails a clubbing blow before a clothesline, several chops and a back suplex. Flair nails a big forearm in the corner and a running boot for a two-count.
Sonya hangs onto the ropes and hits a back elbow. She avoids a big boot on the apron and drops Flair’s leg on the ropes. Sonya hits a pump kick to get a two-count. Flair hits a back breaker before Sonya avoids a big boot. Sonya hits a knee strike by jumping from the second rope to get another two-count.
Sonya goes for a figure four but Flair rolls her up for a pin attempt to get a near fall. Sonya avoids a tackle in the corner before Flair hits her with a handspring clothesline for another two-count. Flair goes for a moonsault but Sonya gets her feet up for a two-count. Flair kicks her away. She rolls through as Sonya comes back and puts on figure four. Flair bridges it into Figure Eight and gets a submission quickly.
Winner – Charlotte Flair
We get a video package for Cody Rhodes’ return from the injury, winning the Royal Rumble and challenging Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
Backstage, Roman Reigns asks Jimmy where his brother is. Jimmy replies that he did not hear from Jey. Roman asks him if he doesn’t find this disrespectful that Jey walked out on family and has been away the whole week. Jimmy says Jey needs time to chill and he will be there when they defend the title next week. Roman asks if Jey will be there for the whole Bloodline or just for him. Jimmy asks Roman to take it easy. Roman says they are not sensing the urgency of the situation and instructs them to go look for Jey.
We get a video package for Kofi Kingston’s history in WWE.
The Brawling Brutes(Butch & Ridge Holland) vs The Viking Raiders(Erik & Ivar)
Ivar and Butch start the match. Ivar sends Butch to the corner and unloads. Butch’s fight back was cut off with more shots. Ivar hits a hard whip to the corner. Erik comes in for a double team whip. Butch works on his arm and tags in Holland. Holland hits a big boot and a shoulder tackle on Erik before a suplex.
Holland tags in Butch and hits a suplex on Erik. Butch and Holland hits stereo 10 Beats of Beltran on Erik. Erik gets down to the floor and Butch follows him. Butch gets distracted by Valhalla and Erik attacks him from behind. Erik sends Butch into the barricade to take us to a break.
Btuch slips past Erik as we return and tags in Holland. Holland hits Saito suplexes on Erik before a belly-to-belly throw. Erik hits a knee strike and tags in Ivar. Ivar goes for a piledriver but Holland counters and hits an Alabama slam for a two-count. Ivar backs him to the corner and hits back elbow.
Butch gets a blind tag and nails a big shot on Ivar. He hits a step-up enzuigiri first to Ivar and then to Erik. Erik hits back with a lariat. The Vikings take Butch to the top for double team but Holland pulls out Erik to the floor. Butch hits a hurricanrana on Ivar from the top rope. Erik slams Holland into the barricade.
Ivar catches Butch as he goes for a moonsault. Ivar overpowers Butch and tags in Erik. Ivar hits a spinning heel kick on Holland on the floor. Erk and Ivar hit The Ragnarok on Butch to get the pinfall.
Winners – The Viking Raiders
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus come out to the stage to attack The Viking Raiders. Sheamus sends Erik into the steel railings. McIntyre unloads on Ivar and hits him with a big boot.
We get a recap of Pitch Black match from Royal Rumble between Bray Wyatt and LA Knight and how Uncle Howdy jumped on Knight after the match. We cut backstage to Bray Wyatt on his rocking chair. Uncle Howdy comes in and gets into camera for a quick cut.
Shotzi vs Natalya vs Zelina Vega vs Shayna Baszler – Qualifier for Elimination Chamber Match
Natalya goes after Baszler. Shotzi sends Zelina to the floor and fights Natalya to get her hands on Baszler. Baszler is sent to the floor. Shotzi drops Natalya with a pump kick. Zelina pulls Shotzi out and sends her into the barricade. Zelina gets into the ring and fights Natalya. She hits a Code Red on Natalya but Shayna breaks the pin.
Shanya works on Zelina’s arm after throwing Natalya out of the ring. Shotzi comes in to save Zelina. Baszler fights them off and throws both of them to the floor. Baszler then hits a knee to Natalya’s face to get a two-count. We cut to a break.
Shayna drops Shotzi with a forearm. Shotzi rolls up Shayna after blocking her stomp. Shotzi hits a series of kicks before hitting a suicide dive on the floor. Vega hits a moonsault on Shayna and Shotzi. Natalya brings Shotzi back to the ring and puts on a sharpshooter. Vega hits Natalya with a bulldog to break it. Shotzi drops Vega before Shayna attacks her.
Shayna puts Shotzi in a kirifuda clutch. Natalya hits a superkick on Shayna while Zelina throws Shotzi to the floor. Natalya puts Zelina in a sharpshooter to get the submission win.
Winner – Natalya
Paul Heyman informs Roman that Jey’s call is going straight to voice mail. Solo and Jimmy also come in and inform that they cannot find Jey. Roman apologizes to Jimmy for his rude behavior earlier but says this should not be happening this close to WrestleMania. He sends Solo and Jimmy to have a dinner specially arranged by Paul Heyman while he will go to the ring to deal with some matter.
After the break, The Usos vs Braun Strowman & Ricochet is announced for next week along with a fatal 4-way match for #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship.
Roman Reigns Addresses Sami Zayn
After the break, Roman Reigns makes his grand entrance with Paul Heyman by his side. He starts by asking for the crowd to “acknowledge” him. The crowd cheers before starting “Sami” chants. Roman says it is rather obvious who the crowd wants for him to talk about. Roman says he should rather be talking about Cody Rhodes, the winner of Royal Rumble and someone who deserves to be talked about.
Roman says, at WarGames, he looked straight in Sami Zayn’s eyes and asked him where his loyalty lies. He saw greed in Sami’s eyes. He gave Sami an opportunity of lifetime and he used him, The Bloodline and the Island of Relevancy. Sami always wanted something. Sami attacks Roman from behind after coming through the crowd.
Sami unloads on Roman with punches. Roman recovers and hits him with a knee and a Superman Punch. Roman gets ready for a spear but Sami hits him with the spear instead. Sami brings out a chair and goes to slam it on Roman, but Roman slips out of the ring.
Sami says Roman is wrong about him and he never wanted anything from him. But now, he wants WWE Undisputed Universal Championship from him. Jimmy Uso hits Sami with a superkick. Solo Sikoa beats him up and hits him with a Samoa Spike. Solo sets up Sami in the corner with chair around his neck, but Roman stops Solo.
Roman asks Sami that he wants something from him. The crowd chants, “We Want Jey”. Roman says the crowd wants Jey but Sami has broken his family and The Bloodline. So, he will give Sami what he wants at Elimination Chamber in Montreal. And he will beat upa nd humiliate Sami in front of his family and his own people in Montreal.
Roman shows off his titles and stands tall with The Bloodline as the show goes off the air.
