Roman Reigns(c) vs Sami Zayn – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
After weeks of conflicts and uncertainty, Sami Zayn’s story with The Bloodline took a big turn at Royal Rumble. After Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa beat up Sami, Roman said Sami had broken his family as he separated Jey Uso from them. So, Roman would now break Sami in front of his family and friends in his hometown of Montreal at Elimination Chamber.
On the following episode of SmackDown, Jey Uso returned to team up with Jimmy to defend tag team titles. Sami met him backstage and told Jey that he acknowledged Jey, and while he is about to bring down Roman, Jey did not need to go down with him. Sami also appeared on RAW to talk to Cody Rhodes who in turn motivated Sami to feel confident about beating Roman at Elimination Chamber.
