WWE SmackDown episode of July 12, 2024, will see a rematch between DIY and A-Town Down Under for WWE Tag Team Championship in the build-up for SummerSlam 2024.

Nia Jax will face Michin in a singles match while Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin will face Angel Garza and Berto Carillo in another tag team match. Tiffany Stratton will make her first appearance as Money in the Bank winner. Solo Sikoa’s rise continues after beating Cody Rhodes. RESULTS & UPDATES

The show opens with a recap of Solo Sikoa pinning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Money in the Bank. We saw Cody Rhodes arriving at the arena as well as the arrivals of Tag Team Champions DIY.

Tiffany Stratton, Bayley & Nia Jax

Tiffany Stratton came out to the ring with her Money in the Bank briefcase. Several “Tiffy Time” chants for her as she pointed out that she is the youngest MITB winner in WWE History. She also said that Trish Strattus was not there to ruin her moment while also putting Bayley, Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez on notice. WWE Women’s1q Champion Bayley came out to interupt her. Bayley told Tiffany that she should be ready to become the first failed women cash-in.

Nia Jax came out and reminded Bayley that she have a match against her at Summerslam. Bayley tried to instigate things between Nia and Tiffany. Nia replied that Tiffany was her personal little Barbie Doll. Bayley went to punch Nia, but Tiffany stopped her. Bayley then hit Tiffany, leading to Nia beating up Bayley. Michin ran out with a kendo stick to stop her.


Byron Saxton caught up with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven for an interview. Green had a neck brace on and she demanded to talk to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.

Nia Jax vs Michin

Nia kept Michin under control. She put on a headlock for a while before throwing Miching around. She threw her to the corner and hit a hip attack. The beatdown continued until a corner splash. Michin used a low bridge to send Nia to the floor. Nia quickly caught her to trip her on the apron. Nia clotheslined her on the floor to take us to a break.

Nia hit a delayed vertical suplex. Nia missed a leg drop. Michin created some momentum with clotheslines, a punch from the ropes, a shotgun dropkick and a cannonball to get a two-count. Michin climbed to the top rope but Nia pulled her down. Nia missed a senton. Tiffany placed a kendo stick in the corner and distracted the referee. Bayley tripped Tiffany. Michin blocked Nia from using the kendo stick and hit a Tornado DDT. Nia countered by dropping her and hit the Annihilator to get the pinfall.

Bayley hit Nia after the match. Tiffany slammed Bayley with MITB briefcase. Nia hit a corner splash before Tiffany hit a spinebuster and Nia hit an elbow drop. Nia left the ring first and Tiffany started thinking about cashing in the MITB briefcase. She was about to hand it to the referee when Nia interrupted her. Tiffany changed the tune immediately.


We heard from Solo Sikoa in a pre-recorded promo where he said that this family is more vicious and will rule WWE for decades as long as he was the Tribal Chief. He also added that by the end of tonight, everyone would acknowledge her.


Andrade was interviewed for his performance in the men’s MITB match but got interrupted by Carmelo Hayes who claimed to be the real MVP of that match. Andrade said Carmelo was next for him.

Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin vs Angel Garza & Berto Carillo

Corbin assisted Crews to hit a dive on Garza and Berto during their entrance. Carillo was taken into the ring to start against Crews. Crews kept control with quick moves in the corner. Carillo made a brief comeback before Crews ran over him once again. Both Garza and Carillo were thrown to the floor before Crews assisted Corbin to hit them with a dive.

Legado were in control after the match. Berto hit an enzuigiri. Corbin countered with a clothesline. Crews and Garza got the tags. Crews hit a jumping clothesline followed by some German suplexes. Corbin sent Berto to the floor when he tried to get involved. Santos Escobar blocked Corbin from getting to Berto. Corbin decked him and went on to take Berto into the timekeeper’s area. Crews a Gorilla Press slam on Garza before Elektra Lopez distracted the referee to allow Escobar to hit Crews with a jumping knee. Garza then hit Wing Clipper on Crews to get the pinfall.

Backstage, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven were standing outside Nick Aldis’ office. Pretty Deadly tried to get into the office but were stopped by Green and were told to get in the line. LA Knight came out of the office with a contract in hand. When Green asked if Aldis was free, Knight told her he might have a couple more things to do.


Cody Rhodes was sitting in the locker room when Randy Orton came in. Orton said while Cody did not need him in the ring tonight, but he would have his back. Orton talked about Kevin Owens not being there tonight due to his mother’s hospitalisation. Orton said when the deal with Bloodline was over, there would be a lot of men coming for the WWE title, and he would also have Cody’s back then.


LA Knight came out to the ring. He said he was not there to complain about things going wrong in MITB ladder match. He then took us to the footage of him pinning Logan Paul in the MITB qualifier. Knight said since he pinned the United States Champion, he got delivered with a contract for United States title match at Summerslam. Knight signed the contract, and said the only thing missing there was signature from Logan Paul. He called out Logan, but then said he was not there tonight. Knight claimed that he would take the title away from Logan at Summerslam.


We got a video package for Blair Davenport where she said while others would cry for being overlooked, she would take their spot.

Blair Davenport vs Naomi

Blair started with a side headlock and hit a clothesline when Naomi came off the ropes. Naomi hit back with some kicks and a leg drop. Blair took the control back and hit a double stomp off the top rope. She drove Naomi into the ring post to take us to a break.

Naomi took over control after the break with quick moves. She hit a hurricanrana after jumping off the second rope. Blair tripped in a Tree of Woe and kicked at her. They went back and forth before Naomi took Blair down and rolled her up to get the pinfall.

Backstage, Naomi was outside Nick Aldis’ office. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill came up and hugged her. They brought up how GM Nick Aldis was not there tonight before talking about potential tag team title match. After they left, Blair Davenport came in and shook Naomi’s hand in a good gesture. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven left Aldis’ office in frustration that he was not there tonight. Blair attacked Naomi from behind.

DIY(Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)(c) vs A-Town Down Under(Angel Garza & Berto Carillo) – WWE Tag Team Championship

Ciampa and Waller started the match. Ciampa started with some quick shots before Waller moved to the floor. Ciampa followed him out and back in. Gargano and Theory also came in. DIY hit a double dropkick. Theory cut off a suicide dive from Gargano. Waller countered with a DDT on the apron on Ciampa to take us to a break.

After the break, Ciampa dodged Waller in the corner. Theory tagged in and hit a stomp. Ciampa hits a jumping knee to counter Theory. Ciampa tagged Gargano who ran riot against both opponents. Gargano hits a slingshot spear on Theory to get a two-count. Ciampa tagged back in and took over control once again. Ciampa rolled up Theory but Waller broke the pin. A-Town Down Under went for the Meet in the Middle but Ciampa ducked it. Waller ended up knocking out Theory to the floor with a jumping knee. DIY hit Waller with the Shatter Machine and Meet in the Middle to get the pinfall.

After the match, Jacob Fatu took down A-Town on the floor before getting into the ring. He caught Gargano’s dive to hit a Samoan Drop. Ciampa hit a DDT which Fatu no-sold it and dropped Ciampa. Jacob hit both of them with moonsaults. Solo Sikoa came out with The Tongas.

Acknowledge Solo Sikoa!

Solo took the center stage after the break and asked the crowd to acknowledge him. Heavy boos after this. Solo then said everyone who refused to acknowledge him was gone be it his own brother Jimmy Uso or The Wiseman Paul Heyman. Solo added that when Roman would come back, he would also acknowledge him. When the crowd chanted “We Want Roman”, Solo said they did not deserve Roman and only had him now. He said the only matter to deal tonight was Cody Rhodes.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his entrance. Cody told Solo that they both want the same thing. Cody said while he did not talk to Nick Aldis yet, Solo should consider it official that they would clash at Summerslam. Cody then added that if it was upto him, he would not wait until Summerslam, but would do it right away. The Bloodline surrounded Cody. Cody hit them all with shots. He went for Crossrhodes on Solo but Jacob Fatu hit him with a superkick.

Randy Orton ran out to fight The Bloodline. The Tongans met him on the floor to eat punches. Orton used a low bridge to send Jacob to the floor. He hit Solo with a DDT in the ring. He checked on Cody only for Jacob to run him over. They tied up Cody to the ropes. Orton was hit with steel steps by the Tongans. Jacob hit him with superkicks. They were preparing the announce table. Cody kept screaming, “take me” to save Orton, but Orton was put through the announce table. Solo hit Cody with a Samoan Spike. Jacob put the Ula-Fala on Solo before they posed on the floor.
