WWE SmackDown of March 11, 2022, will feature the former tag-team champions Big E & Kofi Kingston in action against Ridge Holland. The forthcoming episode will air from the Legacy Arena, Birmingham, AL. 

Along with the tag-team match, a singles match between Sasha Banks and Queen Zelina has also been confirmed for the next edition of SmackDown. Roman Reigns might also address his vicious attack on Brock Lesnar at the MSG live event.

The show starts with a recap of the segment between Brock Lesnar and the Bloodline from MSG. Roman Reigns stood tall over Lesnar after attacking him from behind.

Brock Responds

Brock Lesnar comes out as we go live from the arena. He looks pissed off with what happened at MSG. He takes the mic and calls out Roman saying he is done changing the game and the rules. He has been getting up from bed watching the mark on his face. He says you don’t draw first blood on Lesnar and live to tell the tale. He does not care about anything- WrestleMania contract, WWE title. Brock throws away the WWE title out of the ring. He asks Roman to come out.

Paul Heyman comes out to the stage. Heyman says Brock should listen to him if he does not want to listen to him for the rest of his life. Heyman teases bringing out Roman, and then says Roman is not here tonight. Lesnar cuts him off and wonders who will protect Heyman if Roman is not here. Heyman runs away as Lesnar chases him. Lesnar runs through the security and everyone else as he chases Heyman. Heyman gets into an SUV and the car drives away. Lesnar is left disappointed.

Sheamus and Ridge Holland are interviewed backstage and are asked about destroying New Day’s ATV. Sheamus says they did not destroy ATV, but made some modification by making it lighter. Holland says they are ready for Fight Night tonight and has brought someone who is better than two sledgehammers put together. They know him by “Butch.” It turns out to be Pete Dunne.

Big E & Kofi Kingston vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland

Big E attacks Sheamus and Kofi hits him with a dropkick. Sheamus moves to the floor agitated at the pre-match attack. Sheamus starts against Kofi with a knee to the midsection. He continues with big blows before bringing in Holland. Kofi ends up hitting a flying uppercut. Holland hits back before Kofi hits a dropkick. Big E comes in and Sheamus comes in from the other side. They go back and forth with strikes. Sheamus hits signature blows to Big E’s chest. Big E counters with a belly to belly.

Big E goes for a splash on the apron but nobody is home. Sheamus and Holland are in control as we go to a break.

Big E counters Holland with a belly to belly. Kofi gets a hot tag. Back and forth between Kofi and Sheamus. Kofi hits a dropkick, running kick and boom drop. Holland runs a distraction, but Kofi still hits SOS. Big E comes in to take on Holland. Holland counters on the floor to drop Big E. Kofi brings down Sheamus for double stomp. Butch runs a distraction as Kofi goes to the top. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick on the top and gets the pin.

Winner – Sheamus & Ridge Holland

After the match, Butch(Pete Dunne) starts unloading on Kofi with punches. This continues until Sheamus and Holland stop him.

A recap of Ricochet winning the Intercontinental Championship last week from Sami Zayn. Sami is with Kayla Braxton. Kayla tells Sami about how Johnny Knoxville has flown Sami’s phone number over Los Angeles and shows us the video. Sami gets mad at Kayla for showing the video since it has his phone number on it. Sami says he is getting too many messages. When asked about rematch with Ricochet, Sami says Ricochet will not be lucky this week and he will win back his title.

Drew McIntyre, Erik & Ivar vs Happy Corbin, Madcapp Moss & Jinder Mahal

Drew McIntyre made his entrance before the break. As we return to the break, we see Moss, Corbin, Mahal and Shanky beating up The Viking Raiders backstage. McIntyre starts to get back to help them, but the attackers meet him on the ramp. Drew fights them off for a while until the numbers game catches up on him. Drew is sent into the ring post.

They all stomp on Drew in the ring. Corbin signals for Claymore to mock Drew. Drew fights back and against them and Corbin has run away. Moss and Mahal are sent to the floor. Drew hits Shanky with a Michinoku driver. Drew takes his sword and points towards the WrestleMania sign, while screaming at Corbin.

Ronda’s Improved Submission Game

Ronda Rousey is out in the ring after we get the recap of how she defeated Sonya Deville last week and then put Charlotte Flair in the ankle lock. Ronda talks about Flair calling her one trick pony for using armbar and compares it to calling Mike Tyson one-trick pony for having a deadly punch. Ronda then says she has worked on the Ankle lock while she was away from the ring, in honor of her first mentor in this ring – Kurt Angle.

Charlotte Flair comes out to have a back and forth promo. Flair says she will embarass her and will make her tap out. Ronda says why not Flair takes her on right away, and she will give her the chance to take off her heels. Flair leaves the ring and the crowd starts to boo. Flair replies to the crowd that she is still the champion. Ronda tells her that either she will tap out at WrestleMania or Ronda will take her arm with her.

The Usos are in the ring. They talk about being the Tag champs for 236 days and Roman being the Universal Champion for more that 550 days. Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hits and he comes out with Rick Boogs. Boogs says they are the next Smackdown Tag Team Champions. Boogs’ leg is taped up and he is hobbling. The Usos mock them for thinking that they will get a title shot at WrestleMania.

Jey says they will get a title shot if Rick Boogs is able to defeat Main Event Jey Uso in a singles match. Boogs agrees to it. Nakamura and Jimmy get out of the ring.

Jey Uso vs Rick Boogs

The bell rings and Boogs removes taping from his leg. It was a ruse and The Usos took the bait. Boogs hits a kick to midsection and then hits a delayed vertical suplex, holding Jey in the air for a long time. He then does bench press on Jey and does 10 repetations. Jimmy tries to distract. Nakamura comes to deal with him, but Jimmy hits Nakamura with a superkick. Boogs picks up Jimmy and hits a big punch. Jey rolls him up for a two-count. Boogs counters and hits pumphandle powerslam to get the pin and the win.

Ricochet and Sami Zayn are ready for the match. But before they could start, Austin Theory walks out once again and starts mocking Pat McAfee at the announce table. Theory slaps McAfee, prompting McAfee to jump on him. They brawl for a while before crew pulls them apart. Michael Cole also try to calm down McAfee.

Ricochet(c) vs Sami Zayn – WWE Intercontinental Championship

Sami starts with a side headlock. Ricochet hits some quick moves after getting up. Sami drops Ricochet on the ropes. Sami counters a dropkick with a powerbomb for a near fall. Sami unloads on Ricochet on the floor. He hits a clothesline next before putting on another chinlock.

Ricochet rallies with a clothesline, hurricanrana, and dropkick. Sami counters a knee before Ricochet sends him in the air and hits him with a kick. Sami pushes Ricochet off the top and into the barricade to take us to the break.

More back and forth action as we return from the break. Ricochet counters a suplex with Frankestiener for a close two-count. They trade strikes. Ricochet hits a thrust kick to the face. Sami avoids a move before countering handspring with a Blue Thunderbomb for a two-count. They fight on the top rope now. Sami manages to hit an overhead suplex from the top. Sami goes for the Helluva kick but Ricochet counters with the recoil. Ricochet hits 630-splash to get the pin.

Winner – Ricochet

Backstage, we see Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey brawling. Crew tries to get them under control but to no avail. Flair slams Ronda’s face on a car. She also punches a crew member before hitting Ronda with a bodyslam on the car. Flair puts on bow stretch on Ronda and the crew has to get Flair under control. Ronda is seething as Flair leaves. The show goes off the air.

Big E & Kofi Kingston vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland: Big E vs Sheamus ended in a no contest last week after Ridge Holland attacked Kofi, and then Holland and Sheamus stole their ride. As a result, this week, the four men will participate in a tag-team match.

Queen Zelina vs Sasha Banks: One-half of the women’s tag-team champion Queen Zelina will face the former Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in singles action on this week’s SmackDown.
