WWE Saturday Night Main Event 37 Results & Live Updates
Welcome to the live results blog for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXVII event on December 14, 2024.
It was headlined by Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. World Heavyweight Championship triple threat match between Gunther, Damian Priest and Finn Balor was also on the card.
A new champion was crowned as Michin faced Chelsea Green for the inaugural Women’s United States Championship. Liv Morgan faced Iyo Sky to defend Women’s World title. Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre opened the card with a grudge match. Tune in below for the result from WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 37 and complete updates.

- Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn in a singles match via pinfall.
- Liv Morgan(c) def. Iyo Sky in a singles match via pinfall to retain Women’s World Championship.
- Gunther(c) def. Finn Balor vs Damian Priest in a Triple Threat Match via pinfall to retain World Heavyweight Championship.
- Chelsea Green def. Michin in a singles match via pinfall to win the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Championship(Tournament Final).
- Cody Rhodes(c) def. Kevin Owens in a singles match via pinfall to retain Undisputed WWE Championship.
LIVE UPDATES
Joe Tessitore’s retro style voiceover opens the broadcast. We get a video package with old footage of Saturday Night Main Event which slowly transitions to the new footage. Pyro goes off. The rails/barricades are also like WWE’s old days. Jesse Ventura joins him on the dias on a side stage to preview the show. Ventura has some mean comments for Cody Rhodes who is headlining the card. Tessitore throws it to Michael Cole on commentary, but Pat McAfee’s music hits and he makes his way out to join Cole.
Sami Zayn vs Drew McIntyre
Sami fires punches even before he completes his entrance. Drew has also not removed his jacket by that time. He manages to throw Sami to the corner and hits some chops. Sami avoids him in the other corner and fires chops and punches before clotheslining him over the ropes. Sami hits a springboard moonsault on the floor. Drew hits back with a kick and a chop. Sami uses a low bridge to send Drew to the floor again. Drew catches his crossbody this time and throws him over the announce table. We cut to a break.
Drew is in control and throwing punches and chops. Drew hits a belly to belly throw. Sami starts to fight out of the corner and hits a double ax handle. Drew misses a running tackle in the corner. Sami goes for Helluva kick but Drew cuts him off to hit a spinebuster for a two-count. Drew quickly hits a powerbomb for another two-count. Drew takes Sami to the top rope looking for a White Noise, but Sami counters it with a sunset flip powerbomb to get a near fall. Sami tries to hit the Blue Thunderbomb but fails to get Drew up.
Drew hits a Glasgow kiss, but Sami blocks the Claymore kick and hits the Blue Thunderbomb this time to get a near fall. Drew slips out to the floor when Sami signals for the Helluva kick again. Sami chases him out, but Drew gets back in immediately. It was a trap from Drew to catch Sami with a Claymore kick when Sami gets back in. Drew covers Sami and gets the pinfall.

Liv Morgan(c) vs Iyo Sky – Women’s World Championship
Liv starts with a takedown but Iyo kips up quickly. Liv sends her int othe corner and shows off. Iyo hits back with a bulldog and a springboard dropkick. Liv gets to the apron where Iyo tries to hit a German suplex, but Liv grabs the ropes. Liv slips to the floor to attempt a powerbomb but Iyo grabs the ropes and kicks her away to hit a moonsault. We cut to a break.
Liv is in control as we return from the break. Liv hits a Codebreaker for a two-count. Iyo hits a trio of German suplexes, but Liv kicks out. Iyo goes to the top rope. She kicks Liv away when she tries to pull her down. Iyo slips from the top and Liv rolls her up quickly for a two-count. Liv hits an enzuigiri but Iyo pulls her into a crossface. Liv rolls over to break free. Iyo nails her with a knee strike and follows up with double knees against the turnbuckle. Liv gets her boots up on the moonsault and gets the pinfall.
Winner – Iyo Sky
After the match, Liv was celebrating with Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio on the ramp. Rhea Ripley makes her way out. Liv raises her title to show off to Rhea.
Gunther(c) vs Finn Balor vs Damian Priest – Triple Threat Match for World Heavyweight Championship
Balor avoids chops from both Priest and Gunther and runs out. Gunther and Priest trade shots. Balor tries to roll up Gunther but can’t get a count. Shots from both opponents send Balor to the floor. Priest sends Gunther to the floor and hits him with a dive to take us to a break.
Balor is trying to whip Priest as we return. Priest blocks it and throws an elbow on Balor. Gunther runs over both men with a big shot and a clothesline. Gunther applies the Boston Crab on Priest. Balor hits him which enrages him. Gunther takes a shot at Balor who quickly replies with a Pele kick. Priest hits a double clothesline to drop both men. Gunther gets up and goes to fight Priest. Priest hits him with punches and elbows. He sends Balor to the opposite corner and hits corner splashes on both opponents.
Priest then hits a Old School, followed by a crossbody on Gunther. He goes for Razor’s Edge on Balor, but Gunther stops him. Balor hits a sling blade on Priest and Gunther one by one. Gunther locks Balor in a sleeper but Priest hits him with a superkick which gives Balor a chance to sneak a pin attempt. Priest then hits a superkick to send Balor to the floor. Gunther locks Priest in a sleeper choke. Priest fights out of it but fails to hit a chokeslam.
Balor jumps at Priest before hitting a shotgun dropkick. He looks for Coupe de Grace but Gunther trips him. Priest hits Gunther with tthe Razor’s Edge and Balor hits him with Coupe de Grace. The pin from Balor is broken by Priest. Some more quick action between Balor and Priest while Gunther is on the floor. Priest hits Razor’s edge on Balor. Gunther pulls Priest out and hits him with a powerbomb on the steel steps. Gunther then hits a shotgun dropkick and a powerbomb on Balor to get a pinfall.
Winner – Gunther
We see SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis coming out of his office.
We are back to Joe Tessitore and Jesse Ventura for some comments.
Chelsea Green vs Michin – Tournament final for WWE Women’s United States Championship
Both women attempt big kicks right out of the gate, but both miss it. Michin hits an armdrag but Chelsea blocks the second one. Green has to get to the floor to avoid Michin. Michin uses the ropes to bend Green’s body, but has to let it go after 5 counts. Chelsea distracts the referee which gives Piper Niven a chance to slam Michin on the floor outside. We cut to a break.
Michin counters the Rough Ryder as we return. Michin hits a German suplex and a tornado DDT to get a two-count. Chelsea blocks Eat Defeat and hits the Rough Ryder this time to get a near fall. Michin was on the apron when Chelsea tries to hit her with a dive, but Michin pulls out and Chelsea takes out Piper instead. Michin hits both Piper and Chelsea with a cannonball. She quickly hits Piper with Eat Defeat.
Back in the ring, Michin hits Chelsea with Eat Defeat but Chelsea gets near the ropes to get her leg on the ropes to break the pin. Michin takes Chelsea to the top rope. Piper gets on the apron to distract her. Michin hits a dropkick on to knock Piper off the apron. Michin climbs back up, but Chelsea counters with a sunset flip into the Unprettier to get the pin and the win.

Cody Rhodes(c) vs Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship
KO leaves the ring after the bell. He returns to break the count, but then goes out once again. Cody goes after him quickly with punches and slams his face into the announce table. Cody hits a suicide dive next. He seems to have hit his leg into the barricade during that. Back in the ring, Cody hits more shots before hitting a suplex. KO gets to the floor and catches Cody with big shots. He drops Cody on the announce table with a Randy Orton style side slam to mock him. He sees into the camera with a smirk as we cut to a break.
KO goes for a brainbuster on the top rope but Cody blocks it. KO still pushes him off and hits a Swanton Bomb to get a two-count. KO mocks Cody with Dusty Rhodes’ signature punches. Cody gets enraged and hits the punches before a bionic elbow and a snap powerslam. He follows up with a disaster kick to get a two-count. Cody signals for another finisher. As he goes for the Cody Cutter, KO rolls out to the floor. KO catches him with more punches and clears the announce table. Cody blocks a powerbomb and hits an RKO on the table.
Back into the ring, Cody hits a Super Cody Cutter but only gets a two-count. Cody sets up KO on the top rope. He fires punches but KO counters him with the Fishermen’s Buster to get a near fall. Cody tries to counter the Stunner with a Crossrhodes. But, KO pushes him and Cody knocks the referee to the floor. KO hits a stunner, but the referee is down and out. Another referee runs out after 15 seconds, but Cody kicks out by that time. Cody avoids a pop-up powerbomb. He goes for the Cody Cutter once again, but KO ducks and Cody takes out the second referee with it.
KO hits him with a pop-up powerbomb. KO fetches a chair from the timekeeper’s area. Cody ducks the chair swing and hits the Cody Cutter again. Cody hits a Crossrhodes on the chair and throws it out of the ring. He screams at the referee on the floor and covers KO. The referee wakes up after a while and count to three.
Winner – Cody Rhodes
Cody closes the show by celebrating in the corner.
