Women’s United States Championship Tournament Final: On November 8, 2024, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced the introduction of new WWE Women’s United States Championship. The following week, a tournament was announced to crown the inaugural champion, which would feature 12 women and the final would take place at Saturday Night Main Event. The tournament bracket is as below:

Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Kevin Owens was mad at Cody Rhodes for teaming up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood event. After the event, he attacked Cody in the parking lot. The following week, Randy Orton tried to play the peacemaker but Owens attacked him too. This led to a match between Orton and Owens at Crown Jewel, which could never start as they got involved in a pre-match brawl. On SmackDown November 8 episode, Owens attacked Orton again and hit him with a piledriver, injuring him in the process. Cody Rhodes got more mad at Owens over this and called him out. Owens and Cody got face-to-face on SmackDown November 22 episode where Cody challenged him for a match. WWE later announced this match to take place at this event.

Women’s World Championship Match: Iyo Sky became the #1 contender for Women’s World Championship by winning a Battle Royal on November 4 RAW episode. Iyo also joined the women’s WarGames match against Liv Morgan’s team at Survivor Series 2024. On December 2 RAW episode, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Iyo and Kairi Sane in a tag team match and continued to beat them up after the match. Rhea Ripley ran out to make the save, but was shoved into the announce table by Raquel. The match between Liv and Iyo was later announced to take place at this event.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Damian Priest became the #1 contender for World Heavyweight title on RAW November 4 episode by winning a fatal 4-way match. This set up his rematch against Gunther, who defeated him to win the title earlier at SummerSlam. At SummerSlam, Balor turned on his then Judgment Day teammate Priest, which led to Gunther getting a win. During the build-up for his rematch against Priest(which was announced for Survivor Series 2024), Gunther was determined to prove that he could beat Priest on his own. However, at Survivor Series, Balor once again attacked Priest during the match. Gunther hit Balor with a running boot before choking out Priest to get the win. Balor confronted Gunther on RAW December 2 episode on why he kicked him in the face when actually helped him to beat Priest. Gunther replied that he wanted to prove that he could beat Priest on his own. Gunther then faced Dominik Mysterio in a singles match that night after which Balor attacked Gunther. Balor also went to RAW General Manager Adam Pearce to demand a World title shot against Gunther. After some argument, Pearce announced the match for Saturday Night Main Event.

Zayn vs McIntyre: On December 2 RAW episode, after Sami Zayn lost to Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre hit him with a Claymore kick. The following week, Drew revealed that he attacked Sami since Sami teamed up with Roman Reigns. Sami then challenged Drew for a match which was announced for this event.
