WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024
WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024 is NXT’s first Premium Live Event(PLE) of the year 2024 and WWE’s second PLE. It is the twelfth event in the Vengeance Series from WWE and the fourth event to take place under NXT. The show is set to air on February 4, 2024, from F&M Bank Arena in F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, TN.

STORYLINE
NXT Women’s Championship Match: The Champion Lyra Valkyrie announced on January 9 NXT episode that her challenger for Vengeance Day would be determined via a Battle Royal on January 16 episode. The twist in the Battle Royal was that the final 4 remaining wrestlers in the match would fight in a normal fatal 4-way match to determine the winner. Roxanne Perez emerged as the winner in this match to set up the title match at Vengeance Day. Tatum Paxley had been shown obsessed with Lyra and had helped her out against Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez. Lyra and Perez met for a contract signing segment on January 23 NXT episode. Before the segment, Lyra expressed to Paxley how her complete focus was on Perez and her title defense. Paxley then attacked Perez during the contract signing segment. Perez defeated Paxley in a singles match the following week, but Paxley once again started brawling with Perez after the match.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2024 Final: NXT brought back Dusty Rhodes Classic tournament in 2024 after a gap of one year and not holding the tournament in 2023. When the bracket was revealed, it was announced that the final of the tournament would take place at this event. The matches that took place in the tournament are as follows:
- Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin defeated Gallus(Wolfgang & Mark Coffey) – 1st round match on NXT January 9
- Axiom & Nathan Frazer defeated Hank Walker & Tank Ledger – 1st round match on NXT January 9
- Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams defeated Edris Enofe & Malik Blade – 1st round match on NXT January 16
- LWO(Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) defeated Chase U(Duke Hudson & Riley Osbourne) – 1st round match on NXT January 16
- Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin defeated Axiom & Nathan Frazer – Semifinal match on NXT January 23
- Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams defeated LWO(Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) – Semifinal match on NXT January 30
NXT Championship Match: Trick Williams won the Iron Survivor Challenge match at Deadline 2023 event to earn a shot at NXT Championship. The match was supposed to take place at New Year’s Evil, but the reigning champion Ilja Dragunov was not cleared after getting injured during his match against Ridge Holland two weeks before. On January 16 NXT episode, Dragunov informed Williams that he was cleared and they would fight at Vengeance Day instead.
North American Championship Match: Oba Femi cashed in his NXT Breakout Tournament contract against Dragon Lee on January 9 NXT episode and won the title. The following week, Lee asked Femi for a rematch. Femi accepted the challenge on January 16 NXT episode.
Mixed Tag Team Match: The Family’s Tony D’Angelo and Stacks successfully defended NXT Tag Team titles against OTM’s Lucien Price & Bronco Nima on NXT January 9 episode. Following the match, Jaida Parker hyped up OTM to not give their pursuit to take the titles from The Family. On January 23 NXT episode, OTM vandalised The Family’s restaurant and also attacked Adriano Rizzo. In response, The Family cut a promo against OTM before Rizzo attacked Parker during Scrypts vs Dragon Lee match. Later, it was announced that the two sides would clash in a mixed tag team match at Vengeance Day.
Dijak vs Joe Gacy: Dijak faced Trey Bearhill during NXT January 16 episode during which Joe Gacy was on the commentary. Dijak got into Gacy’s face during the match and Gacy responded with a headbutt. After Dijak won the match, Gacy blindsided him and they brawled to backstage. The following week, Gacy once again attacked Dijak during his entrance. They brawled once again and even used chairs, steel steps and ring post. On January 30 episode, Gacy and Dijak once again got involved in a brawl backstage which ended with Dijak throwing Gacy off the roof and into a trash container. NXT General Manager Ava was about to suspend Dijak for this, but he asked for a no-disqualification match against Gacy. Ava refused, but Gacy came out of the trash to ask for the match. The match was then made official.
