Welcome to the live results blog for WWE NXT Gold Rush 2023 night 2 on June 27, 2023, which was live from WWE Performance Center.

NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes headlined the event against Baron Corbin to defend his title. Hayes was also in action at RAW earlier this week where he lost to Finn Balor. But, he claimed that he can beat Corbin even at his 25%. Was he able to do it though?

Tiffany Stratton took on Thea Hail to defend NXT Women’s Championship. Kiana James and Gigi Dolin were set for a singles match. Gallus’ Mark Coffey and Wolfgang took on Edris Enofé & Malik Blade to defend NXT Tag Team Championship. Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee clashed in a British Round Rules match over NXT Heritage Cup.

Live Updates

Tiffany Stratton(c) vs Thea Hail – NXT Women’s Championship

Duke Hudson is in Thea’s corner. They lock up to start and Tiffany is clearly teh more powerful women. Thea gets a pin attempt after a takedown. Tiffany goes for an armdrag but Thea blocks it and counters with another pin attempt. A couple of attempts to lock in Kimura, but Tiffany is quick to break it. Thea hits an armdrag herself. Tiffany blocks the next armdrag. Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak are out to the ringside. Thea sends Tiffany to the floor with a dropkick. Tiffany trips Thea on the apron. After dropping her once on the floor, Tiffany takes Thea back to the ring. She hits a double foot stomp to get a two-count. Thea sends Tiffany to the floor and hits a moonsault. We cut to a break.

Tiffany whips Thea to the corner but misses a corner splash. Thea whips her to the corner next. Thea hits flying tackles and a suplex before hitting Chase U stomps, a senton and a springboard senton to get a two-count. Tiffany hits a spinebuster. Thea counters a powerbomb and puts on Kimura lock. Tiffany goes near the ropes but Dempsey pull it away. Thea lets the lock go as the referee also argues with Dempsey. Gulak argues with the referee now while Thea puts on Kimura lock and forces Tiffany to tap out. Thea let it go and brings the referee back. Tiffany rolls up Thea to get the pinfall.

Winner – Tiffany Stratton

Hudson, Gulak and Dempsey get into the ring to check on Thea, who is distraught. Hudson argues with the other two. Gulak and Dempsey attack him and stomp on him. Thea starts to argue with them now. Andre Chase makes his return and attacks Gulak and Dempsey now. Hudson joins him in the attack to hit jabs in tandem.


We get a video package for Ilja Dragunov.


Last week, Dana Brooke was in trainer’s room after injuring her knee. A new NXT recruit Jordan comes in to talk to her. Dana says she has seen her training and compliments her gymnastics.

Gallus(Mark Coffey and Wolfgang)(c) vs Edris Enofé & Malik Blade – NXT Tag Team Championship

We see how Stacks kidnapped Joe Coffey last week. Blade starts for his team against Mark. Mark pushes Blade away from a lock up. He puts on a side headlock. A tackle from Coffey but Blade gets up quickly. Wolfgang tags in but Blade quickly gets out of the opponent’s corner. Blade runs the ropes but fails to get Wolfgang down with a sunset flip. Enofe tags in to hit a double ax-handle. He hits a kick to the knee, but Wolfgang catches his crossbody.

Enofe runs out of it, but Wolfgang catches him again to corner him. Mark tags in and Enofe hits him with an armdrag. Blade tags in and gets Mark down in a side headlock takeover. Blade hits punches, kicks and a flying shoulder tackle before bringing in Enofe to hit double dropkicks on Wolfgang and Mark. Enofe hits another dropkick on Mark before tagging in Blade who hits a frog splash, but Mark kicks out.

Blade hits a dropkick as we return. Wolfgang tags in and slams him down to the mat. Wolfgang hits punches after taking Blade to his corner. Gallus has cut the ring in half with quick tags to keep Blade isolated. Mark hits a shoulder tackle from the second rope. He puts on a front headlock. Blade breaks free and ducks a clothesline and tags in Enofe. Enofe hits a dropkick as he comes in. Wolfgang also gets into the ring and Enofe sends him to the corner. He slips off Mark’s back but manages to come back with a Samoan drop.

Blade tags in for a double team move on Mark but he kicks out of the pin. Blade and Enofe hit splash from the top rope in succession. Wolfgang breaks the pin. Mark slips to the floor. Stacks come in and hits a big uppercut on Enofe to send him into the steel steps. Wolfgang throws Blade to the floor. Stacks throws Enofe to the ring. Gallus hits their double team finisher to get the pinfall.

Winner – Gallus

Meta-four are backstage with McKenzie Mitchell and Noam Dar is still upset at losing Heritage Cup. Jakara Jackson and Lash Legends divert his attention by talking about their win last week. Jackson warns Ronda Rousey to be beware. McKenzie once again asks Noam about the winner of tonight’s match between Frazer and Lee.

Schism Session!

The complete Schism group is in the ring to discuss their issues. Ava says they are here to express their feelings and not to be judged. Jagger Reid says Gacy brought them in to improve them but they are not seeing it. They are thriving without him, but are failing with him. He says Gacy is full of crap. Gacy says to claim that he had done nothing is a lie because Reid would not be saying this a year back because his friend would not let him be. Fowler says Gacy used to preach inclusivity and then exclusivity, and it does not make any sense. They are starting to see cracks. Gacy says if he is a dictator, why are they not in the same clothes like before?

Diamond Mine comes out and starts taking shots at The Schism. Schism say this does not concern them. Julius says it is their concern because they cost them title matches. Gacy says it is a family matter. Julius says they want to takeover NXT, but they will not let it happen. Gacy says if it is another match that The Creed Brothers want, it will be next. But, the stipulation will be that losing team will leave NXT. The Dyad are shocked at it, but The Creeds accept the match.


We get a promo for new NXT recruits Bronco Lima and Nuimen Price. Hank Walker, Tank Ledger, Scrypts and Axiom are backstage discussing them. Nathan Frazer comes in with Heritage Cup. Axiom gives him his best for his title defense.


Trick Williams comes to Carmelo Hayes as he is warming up. Rhea Ripley comes in to send a warning. Rhea says Balor was here for Judgment Day, but they interfered and they have now become thier business.

Nathan Frazer(c) vs Dragon Lee – British Round Rules match for NXT Heritage Cup

Round 1 – They shake hands before starting. They lock up and both men take turns to get takedowns. Lee puts on an arm wringer. They counter arm wringers in quick succession. Frazer puts on a side headlock. Axiom comes out to the ramp. Lee hits a knee to Frazer’s back but Frazer keeps the headlock on. Scrypts is also out now. Quick counters from both men and they both miss their moves. 10 seconds left in round 1 as they lock up again. Lee puts Frazer to the corner and time runs out. Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz are the corner women for this match.

Round 2 – Lee gets a hammerlock, but Frazer hits a jawbreaker. Frazer runs the rope and gathers pace before hitting a dropkick. He hits back elbows. Lee hits a back elbow before a dragon screw leg. He hits a diving hurricanrana but Frazer counters it with a sunset flip to get the first pinfall.

Round 3 – Frazer hits a dropkick before Lee hits back with a running tackle. Lee hits a tope suicida on the floor to take us to a break. We cut to a break.

Round 4 – We are 40 seconds into the round as we return. Frazer rolls up Lee before sending him to the floor and hit a suicide dive. Lee hits knee strikes when they return. He hits an enzuigiri. Frazer hits back with a superkick but Lee ducks him next and hits a pop-up powerbomb to get the pinfall.

Round 5 – Lee hits a big boot in the corner to kick off this round. Frazer catches him with a superkick. Frazer gets to the top but Lee gets him down in a tree of woe and hits a double stomp. Frazer comes back with a belly-to-belly suplex to send Lee into the turnbuckle. Frazer hits a superplex before Lee counters to hit another powerbomb. Frazer kicks out of the pin though. 1 minute is left in this round. They trade punches next. Lee fires more shots before they trade pin attempts. Frazer gets a jacknife cover to get the pinfall with just 1 second left in the round.

Winner – Nathan Frazer

They embrace after the match.


We get a video package for RAW Underground. Next, we see Gable Stevenson training Eddy Thorpe for the match against Demon Kemp. Thorpe asks Stevenson to be in his corner during the match next week.


Mustafa Ali goes to North American Champion Wes Lee backstage. He apologizes to Lee if he was not happy with his officiating last week, but he says he tried to call it down the middle. Tyler Bate comes in and says the outcome would have been different if it was any other referee. He asks for a rematch. Ali says Bate had his turn and now it is his chance for a title shot. Bate says he will be the referee then. Ali takes offense. Lee takes his title and goes away while Bate and Ali argue.


Mr. Stone is searching for Von Wagner backstage. He finds him after a while. Wagner has his head down and talking like that only. Stone asks why he did not meet him. Wagner says he is embarrassed after opening up about his illness last week.

Kiana James vs Gigi Dolin

Gigi gets a takedown after initially in the lock up. She hits a couple of armdrags before holding onto the arm. James gets to the ropes to break the hold. Gigi catches her leg when she tries to hit a pump kick. James slips to the floor to regroup. Gigi nails a kick to the face when she returns. She hits hip attacks next to get a two-count. James slaps him hard. Gigi nails her with forearm shots in response. James hits a back elbow before Gigi tackles her to the floor. Both women are down on the floor as we cut to a break.

James is in control as we return. Gigi makes a comeback with a back body drop. James rolls to the floor and catches Gigi with a kick. Back to the ring, James gets a two-count. She slams her face into the mat a few times before another two-count. James puts on a chinlock and keep Gigi grounded. Gigi hits shots to midsection after getting to her feet. She hits a knee strike, clotheslines and a pump kick. James hits back but Gigi hits her with leg sweep. James gets her loaded bag but Gigi ducks it and nails a roundhouse kick. Gigi hits crucifix bomb to get the pinfall.

Winner – Gigi Dolin

James hits her with a loaded bag after the match. James brings out some paint bottles from her bag and pours the paint on Gigi.


Joe Coffey visits Tony D’Angelo in prison, and Tony is livid. Joe says things have changed since Tony got arrested. Tony tells him that Stacks will handle him. Joe says Stacks has got a mind of his own, and was the one to sell him out. Joe plays a recording after he was kidnapped by Stacks last week. In the recording, Stacks says he is done being the underboss.

Carmelo Hayes(c) vs Baron Corbin – NXT Championship

Corbin blocks a clothesline and throws Hayes to the corner. Hayes hits a springboard tackle. Corbin rolls to the floor. Hayes hits a crossbody off the top to take us to a break.

Corbin has a chinlock on as we return. Hayes hits some punches but Corbin throws him to the floor. Corbin throws him into the barricade. Hayes fights back from the apron but Corbin runs him over with a running boot. Back to the ring, Corbin gets a two-count. Corbin puts on a chinlock and cranks the neck. Hayes gets back to his feet and gets to the ropes. Corbin hits an elbow to his back. Hayes hits a pump kick, a dropkick and a springboard clothesline to get a two-count.

Corbin nails an uppercut before hitting a back breaker. Corbin hits some elbow shots and is in complete control now. He hits some forearm shots in the corner. He hits a big clothesline to get a two-count. Corbin puts Hayes on the top rope but Hayes fires back with quick shots. He hits a frog splash from the top but is too tired and gets late on the cover. Corbin kicks out at two. Hayes fires more punches and sends Corbin to the floor with a pump kick. He sets up Corbin on the ropes and hits fade away(springboard leg drop).

A superkick, codebreaker and a springboard DDT from Hayes to get a two-count. Corbin ducks a move from the top and rolls up Hayes for a two-count. Corbin hits a Death Valley driver and a chokeslam backbreaker to get a near fall. Hayes sidesteps when Corbin runs at him into the steel steps. Corbin catches Hayes and drops him on the announce table. Corbin hits big elbow shots against the announce table. He takes Hayes back to the ring where he gets another nearfall.

Corbin hits more elbows. Hayes gets up and hits a shot. Hayes blocks Deep six and hits a knee strike. Corbin hits deep six to get another near fall. Hayes blocks End of Days. Corbin gets to the apron where Hayes blocks a chokeslam and hits a DDT into the apron. Hayes hits a leg drop from the top to get the pinfall.

Winner – Carmelo Hayes
