Welcome to the live results blog for WWE NXT August 1, 2023 episode, which dealt with the fall-out from The Great American Bash 2023 event.

Two matches were announced in advance for the show. Lyra Valkyrie faced Jacy Jayne in a rematch after their backstage brawl at Great American Bash. Dijak’s attack on Eddy Thorpe led to a singles showdown between them.

We can also expect to see what was in store for the champions Carmelo Hayes, Tiffany Stratton and Dominik Mysterio, who have all retained their titles at PLE on Sunday. Tune in below as we post results from WWE NXT August 1, 2023 episode with live updates, winners, highlights and complete action.

RESULTS

  • Lyra Valkyria defeated Jacy Jayne in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Dijak defeated Eddy Thorpe in a singles match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

A 3-on-2 brawl broke out in the parking lot as Gallus attack the new tag team champions Tony D’Angelo and Stacks. They leave Tony and Stacks battered in the lot.

Lyra Valkyria vs Jacy Jayne

Jacy rants at the commentary team and says they will have to pull her away from Lyra. She attacks Lyra during the entrance and beat her up as she takes her to the ring. She hits a senton off the apron before taking her to the ring. The bell rings and Lyra fires big shots before hitting a running crossbody. Jacy sends Lyra to the corner and hits some thrust kicks in succession. Jacy drives her to the corner with more tackle. Lyra sends her to the floor and hits a crossbody.

Jacy is in control as we return. Jacy hits a snapmare before rolls up Jacy to get a two-count. Jacy hits back with a senton. Lyra comes back with a back heel kick before a series of body kicks. Jacy hits a knee to midsection to block a suplex. Lyra sends Jacy to the floor to hit a crossbody. She hits a bridging northern lights suplex for a two-count. More attacks from her before she hits a splash from the top to get the pinfall.

Winner – Lyra Valkyrie

NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes is with Trick Williams backstage. Trick says he needs to start doing things for himself, and Trick-Melo Gang is always gonna be. He is ride or die, but he is no sidekick. Carmelo says he doesn’t see Trick as a sidekick, but Williams says the fans think of him as sidekick, and he has to get Dragunov for himself and slay that mad dragon.


NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio comes out with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley to the ring. Rhea hypes up Dominik before Dragon Lee interrupts them. Lee tells them Dominik is not the greatest luchador as Rhea is claiming, but Rey Mysterio is. He ends up challenging Dominik for the title match next week. Dominik claims to be the fighting champion and accepts the challenge. He adds that Rhea will be in his corner as usual. Lee also has a surprise for them as Rey Mysterio appears on the screen to announce that he will be at NXT next week to be in Lee’s corner.


Tony D’Angelo and Stacks are interviewed in the medical room and are asked for medical update. They say Gallus are dead men walking and as they want to fight them tonight. Stacks tells Tony to call some guy to make up the numbers.


Wes Lee is in the locker room and when Carmelo Hayes comes in. Hayes tells him to save the self-pity. Lee does not want consolation as he has lost for three weeks in a row. Melo says he went through a war on Sunday and he can barely breathe and now he understands why Breakker snapped. Wes says he knows what it means to be champion. Noam Dar and Oro Mensah come in with the fake Heritage cup. Lee tells him that Nathan Frazer is the real champion. Dar says Frazer never beat him, but Dominik had beaten Lee. A brawl breaks out.


Thea Hail is interviewed backstage with Andre Chase and Duke Hudson. She is in tears saying she did not give up and Andre Chase threw the towel. Chase says he had no choice. Baron Corbin comes in and interrupt them as he wants the time on screen. He tells Thea that her career peaked on Sunday, and she should pack up her things. Chase stands up to Corbin and make him leave. He tries to talk to Hail and Hudson, but they give him a cold shoulder.

Eddy Thorpe vs Dijak

Thorpe avoids a big boot and hits quick shots before a dropkick. He hits a crossbody to take down Dijak again before a snapmare. Dijak fires big chops to drop Thorpe. Thorpe tackles him to the corner before missing a running tackle. Dijak hits a chokeslam to get a near fall. Thorpe hits a back heel kick and thrust kick to the face to get a two-count. He is selling his left shoulder. Dijak blocks a German suplex to hit a snapmare. He throws Thorpe into the turnbuckle once again to hurt his shoulder some more. Thorpe fights out of a fireman’s carry before a big tackle. Dijak slips to the floor and pulls his shoulder into the turnbuckle once again. He hits a superkick from the floor before hitting a spinning boot to get the pinfall.

Winner – Dijak

Tony D’Angelo is on the phone asking someone to come in and if he does this for him, they are even. Stacks comes in and Tony tells him that person is on his way in.


Dana Brooke and Kelani Jordan are watching Dana’s match last week vs Cora Jade. Brooke says something dark just came out of her and she felt good. Kelani says she was kind of a badass. Dana tells her that she needs to find her own killer instinct.

Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz vs Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez

Lopez starts with a takedown. Leon fires out of a sleeper quickly before some quick takedowns. Feroz hits a springboard crossbody after the tag. Vice distracts her to allow Lopez to run her over from behind. Vice whips Feroz to the corner and hits a spinning heel kick to get a two-count. Lopez hits a corner tackle before an enzuigiri to get a two-count. She puts on body scissors. Feroz breaks free but her tag is blocked. Vice tags in and Feroz goes under her legs to tag in Leon. Leon comes in with hot tag and drops Vice a few times in quick succession to draw a break from Lopez. Feroz and Lopez are dumped out one by one before Leon runs into a big kick from Vice for the pinfall.

Winner – Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez

We see TikToks from NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton saying her hand was hurting so much during the match, but she refused to give up. She will return to NXT next week.

Carmelo Hayes & Wes Lee vs Meta-Four(Noam Dar & Oro Mensah)

Mensah hits an uppercut. Hayes hits her with a springboard clothesline. Lee tags in to whip Mensah to the corner and hits an uppercut. Hayes comes back in to hit a couple of kicks to midsection. Tag to Lee once again and he hits punches to midsection. Mensah hits a shot to Lee’s back before Hayes tags in to hit a double dropkick with Lee. Lee tags in and Mensah rolls to the floor. We cut to a break.

Dar is in control against Lee as we return. Mensah tries to choke him on the ropes. He hits a suplex followed by more punches. Lee takes him down with double leg. He fires a spinning kick before tagging in Melo. Melo comes in hot against Dar to hit quick clotheslines and kicks before a superkick to get a two-count. Dar gets to the floor. Hayes manages to duck all the distraction on the floor and drops Dar with a DDT. Lee tags in but Jakara Jackson gets in between him and Dar. She gets out of the way when Lee hits a shooting star press on Dar. Mensah breaks the pin. Hayes gets in to deal with Mensah. Lee goes for Kardiak kick on Dar, but Mensah pushes Hayes into it. Mensah hits a superkick before Dar hits Noam Roller to get the pinfall.

Winners – Meta-Four

Lee argues with argues after the break and asks him where he was. Melo tries to tell him what happened but he is not able to understand. Melo says he is not worried about it. Lee says but he is. Melo leaves without more argument.


We get a short promo from Bron Breakker, calling Von Wagner a nobody.

Andre Chase vs Baron Corbin

Thea and Duke are unenthusiastically out with Chase. Corbin runs over Chase in the initial exchanges with big shots and clotheslines. Chase comes back with a sunset flip before sending Corbin out to the floor with a dropkick. Corbin hits a death valley driver on the floor. Corbin hits some shots to the back before a hard whip into the corner. Corbin hits some punches before throwing Chase to the floor to drive him into the barricade.

Chase avoids him into the corner before a snap at the leg. Chase hits a dropkick on the leg before hitting a Russian leg sweep. He hits Chase U kicks. Corbin ducks him as he jumps off the top and hits a spinebuster. Corbin puts on a single-leg crab. Chase tries to get to the ropes but Thea throws in the towel. Corbin throws it out of the ring and the referee did not see the towel. Hail leaves to the back in anger. Some more quick back and forth before Corbin hits End of Days to get the pinfall.

Winner – Baron Corbin

We see how it was for Roxanne Perez to return to Texas. We see footage of her family receiving her, footage from Dream Con and a recap of her match against Blair Davenport. She says she is done apologizing for herself.


Schism is in the ring and they try to find out which one of their followers cost them the match last week. They unmask their followers one by one but they are unable to find The Creed Brothers, who they suspect. The Creed Brothers appear on the big screen and say they are on vacation and did not cost them. Joe Gacy calls on his followers worldwide to find The Creed Brothers’ location.


Axiom interrupts Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley in the parking lot and challenges him. Dominik mistakes him for Dragon Lee as they argue. Mustafa Ali comes in and wants to have a word with Dominik, but gets to argue with Axiom. Dominik and Rhea leave.

The Family(Tony D’Angelo, Stacks & Santos Escobar) vs Gallus(Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & WolfGang) – Tag Team Match

Santos Escobar is revealed to the mystery partner. A brawl breaks out on the outside. Stacks starts the match against Wolfgang and hits a big uppercut. Tony tags in and hits a knee to the face. A big shot before he slams Wolfgang’s face into Stacks’ knees. Stacks hits drop toe hold but he has to hit chop blocks to bring Wolfgang down. Tags to Tony and Joe who trade punches. All 6 men get into the ring and The Family and Escobar clear the ring to take us to a break.

Gallus has taken control against Stacks. Mark hits a shoulder tackle from the second rope. Joe hits a side walk slam to get a two-count. Wolfgang hits some punches before continuing the quick tags. Stacks tries to push Mark to his corner but Mark hits a knee to his face. Stacks hits a back body drop but Tony is pulled off the rope before he can tag out. Wolfgang tags in to hit Stacks with a body slam. He misses a splash. Stacks tags in Escobar who hits quick moves. Escobar hits a missile dropkick before his pin attempt is broken. Tony and Stacks also get into the ring to start a brawl. Escobar and company clear the ring again. Escobar hits double knees in the corner on Mark. Tony and Stacks hits Bada Bing Bada Boom to get the win.
