WWE & AEW Rumors: Zelina Vega Returns, Planned Finish for PAC vs Cassidy
Here is the latest round of rumors from AEW and WWE involving Zelina Vega, Orange Cassidy vs PAC and Santana’s absence from AEW Dynamite.
Planned Finish for PAC vs Orange Cassidy Match
PAC and Orange Cassidy faced off at AEW Dynamite last night in the AEW World Title Eliminator match, which ended in a double count-out. Now, the AEW World title match at Double or Nothing will be a triple threat match with both men facing Kenny Omega.
As per reports from PWInsider and Fightful Select, the triple threat setup is not something thrown at the last minute, but it was always the plan for Double or Nothing 2021 main event. However, the reports mention that the original idea was to have a 20-minute time limit draw.
The finish was changed on the go after Orange Cassidy suffered an injury after taking a sunset flip powerbomb from PAC. After the injury became clear, Omega was asked to run out and take out PAC, and both men stayed down until the double count out.
Zelina Vega Seen at WWE Performace Center
In another report from Fightful Select, Zelina Vega is projected to return to WWE just six months after her release. The website mentioned that Vega was spotted at the WWE Performance Center today(13 May 2021) and filmed some content.
Vega was released from WWE back in November 2020 after complained against the company’s social media edict. Vega did not work with any other wrestling promotion during this time.
Why Santana Missed AEW Dynamite
Inner Circle, except Santana, was there at AEW Dynamite this week to rain down “Little Bit of Bubbly” on the Pinnacle as they celebrated their win in the Blood & Guts match. It was mentioned that MJF got Santana arrested for using fork as a weapon.
Dave Meltzer has mentioned in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Santana fell sick prior to Dynamite this week and AEW proceeded with caution during these pandemic times to cut him out of the show. Let’s hope there is nothing much to his sickness and he recovers quickly.
