A triple threat match will take place for AEW World Heavyweight Championship at AEW Double or Nothing 2021 PPV.

On AEW Dynamite episode this week, number #1 and #2 wrestlers in the latest AEW Rankings – Orange Cassidy and PAC – faced off in the AEW World title eliminator match. The winner was supposed to challenge Kenny Omega for the title at Double or Nothing later this month.

However, the match did not bring out a definite winner as it ended in a double count-out. Cassidy seemed to have suffered an injury as he took a sunset flip from PAC in the match’s final moments. Kenny Omega then entered the ring to hit PAC with his title belt while Don Calis had distracted the referee.

Both men failed to answer the ten count from the referee to cause a double count-out. Omega and Callis started celebrating at the stage, saying that Omega will have a day off at Double or Nothing. However, their celebration was cut short as Tony Schiavone informed that Omega will have to defend the AEW World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match now.

This is the fourth match to be confirmed for the show after AEW Women’s title match, Adam Page vs Brian Cage, and Cody Rhodes vs Anthony Ogogo match.

AEW Double or Nothing 2021 PPV will air on 30 May 2021 at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL. The tickets for the event will go on sale on Monday, 17 May 2021.
