Theory vs Mustafa Ali US Title Match Added to WWE Hell in a Cell
WWE has added another title match to WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 card.
Austin Theory will defend the WWE United States Championship against Mustafa Ali.
This week on RAW, Mustafa Ali faced Tomasso Ciampa with the stipulation that if Ali wins, he would get a future title shot at Theory’s US title. Theory was at the commentary during the match and got frustrated by the commentators’ comments that Theory has become arrogant after becoming Vince McMahon’s protege and praises for Ali. This led to Theory pulling Ali from the top and causing a DQ win for Ali.
Theory beat up Ali for a while and told him that he would give him the title shot right away. After the show came back from the break, the match started after Ali agreed to the referee to continue. Theory made a short work of Ali and won the match.
Just as he was returning to the back, Theory was stopped by WWE Official Adam Pearce to be informed that Vince McMahon wants him to defend the United States title against Ali in a fair match that will take place at Hell in a Cell.
Ali returned to WWE after a hiatus to confront Theory. He defeated The Miz on April 25 episode of RAW. However, he has since lost to the likes of Tomasso Ciampa and Veer Mahaan in singles matches with The Miz as the special guest referee.
A total of 6 matches are now confirmed for the event which is set to take place on June 5.
