Sting Wins Retirement Match at AEW Revolution, Vacates Tag Team Titles

“The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin won their match at AEW Revolution 2024 to retain AEW Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks.

This was Sting’s retirement which also ended up featuring both his sons, Ric Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. After chaotic events during this tornado tag team match, Darby hit Nicolas Jackson with Coffin Drop and Sting put him in the stinger death lock to get a submission.

With this win, Sting ended his AEW career undefeated with 28 wins, and as the AEW Tag Team Champion. However, as Sting has retired, AEW President Tony Khan has announced that the title were vacated after the event.

Khan also announced that a tournament would take place in the coming days to crown the new champions. He also added that the tournament will have more than one bracket. No more details were announced for this tournament. Keep tuned in for more updates.
