Shingo Takagi vs Tama Tonga Rematch Set for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18
Shingo Takagi will defend his NEVER Openweight title against Tama Tonga at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 2024 event.
Shingo Takagi commenced his third tenure as the NEVER Openweight Champion by emerging victorious against Tama Tonga at NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed. Takagi’s recent title defense was at NJPW Lonestar Shootout event, where he defeated Trent Beretta.

Following this triumph, Takagi addressed the audience and, in the course of doing so, expressed interest in discovering his next potential challenger. Tama Tonga responded to the challenge by entering the ring.
After that, Takagi agreed to grant him a title rematch and announced that they would face each other at Wrestle Kingdom 18 event.
Tama Tonga’s most recent match was also at the NJPW Lonestar Shootout event, where the Guerrillas of Destiny suffered a defeat at the hands of Bullet Club (Alex Coughlin, Chase Owens, Clark Connors, and Gabe Kidd).
Wrestle Kingdom 18 event is set to occur on January 4, 2024, live from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. IWGP United States title match is also set for the event, where Will Ospreay will defend his title against Jon Moxley and David Finlay.
