Riddle, Theory, Rollins & Styles Added to WWE Title Elimination Chamber Match
All six participants of the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match are confirmed now.
WWE earlier announced that Bobby Lashley will defend the WWE Championship inside the chamber at Elimination Chamber 2022 event.
Bobby Lashley came out to interrupt Adam Pearce to open WWE RAW this week, and took offence in having to prove himself inside the Chamber. Lesnar, who lost the title to Lashley at Royal Rumble, came out to confront Lashley. When Lesnar asked for a WWE title rematch, Pearce announced that Lesnar will be one of the challengers in the Chamber match. Lesnar will also challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 for the Universal Championship.
Kevin Owens hosted Seth Rollins in the KO show where Rollins announced that he is added to the Chamber match. Owens asked him to push for his direct qualification, but before Rollins could do much, Austin Theory came out for the qualifier against Owens. Owens dominated the initial part of the match before it settled in a back and forth pattern. Theory managed to defeat Owens to qualify for the match at Elimination Chamber 2022 event.
Riddle and Randy Orton are currently in a feud with Alpha Academy’s Otis & Chad Gable after losing the RAW Tag Team Championship to them. After beating them in a spelling bee contest, Riddle faced Gable in a scooter race this week on RAW. Riddle was about to win the race after Gable got tripped on the ramp. But Otis hits him with a splash and Gable then walked past the finish line easily.
When Riddle called them out for cheating, Gable told Riddle that he can face Otis in a match. Adam Pearce later announced that this match was turned into a qualifying match for the Chamber WWE title match. Despite getting beaten up for a long time, Riddle rallied in the final minutes and defeated Otis to win the match and qualify for the WWE title match.
In the final match of the night, AJ Styles defeated Rey Mysterio to complete the line-up for the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match. The event will air from Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia.
