MJF vs Jay White AEW World Title Bout Set for Full Gear 2023

MJF will defend his AEW World Championship against Jay White at AEW Full Gear 2023 PPV event.

During the October 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn called out MJF. MJF followed suit to confront them which led to MJF challenging Bullet Club Gold to a 3-on-1 handicap match. BCG trio retreated to avoid a brawl with MJF.

However, it turned out to be a ploy to allow Jay White to launch a surprise attack on MJF from behind and drop him with Blade Runner. He then took MJF’s title and declared that the company deserved the best champion. White then challenged MJF for a match at the Full Gear 2023 PPV event.

MJF promptly accepted the challenge, and AEW officially announced the match between MJF and Jay White for the Full Gear 2023 PPV event. White has also taken MJF’s title belt away.

During the September 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, there was a confrontation between MJF and Jay White. Later in that show, Jay White was ambushed by a group of masked individuals, with MJF’s Devil Mask leading them. As of now, the identities of the individuals behind the masks have not been confirmed.

MJF had denied being the perptrator behind that attack and had claimed that the mask was stolen a week ago. On this week’s Dynamite though, Jay White refused to believe MJF on this.

The match between Jay White and MJF at Full Gear 2023 will mark Jay White’s pay-per-view singles debut for All Elite Wrestling. Full Gear 2023 holds great importance for MJF as he can cross one yeat as AEW World Champion if he manages to retain the title that night. MJF won the title at Full Gear 2022 event by defeating Jon Moxley.

AEW Full Gear PPV event is scheduled for November 18, 2023, and it will be live from Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. This is the first match announced for the event.
