Drew McIntyre vs Bobby Lashley Announced For Backlash 2020

Drew Mcintyre vs Bobby Lashley WWE Championship Backlash 2020

WWE has announced the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley for WWE Backlash 2020 PPV.

The build towards this match started last week on RAW when MVP told Lashley that he should be having WWE Championship matches after spending so long in WWE. This week again, MVP interrupted Lashley in a backstage interview and told him to quit wasting time on “clowns” like R-Truth and go for the WWE Title.

Lashley then went to the ring and squashed Truth in his singles match. MVP appeared on the stage after that match and praised Lashley. During the main event match between Drew McIntyre and King Baron Corbin, Lashley and MVP appeared on the stage to watch. Lashley issued a warning for McIntyre before the match that he is coming for the title.

After his win, McIntyre yelled at Lashley that he wants to fight him and that the WWE Universe has been waiting for Lashley to step up for a long time now. WWE announced the match via social media on Tuesday.

Bobby Lashley has been involved in a love triangle storyline with Lana and Rusev since October last year, leading to on-screen marriage with Lana on New Year’s eve show of WWE RAW. Recently, he has been involved in squash matches, a partnership with MVP, and an impending end of the relationship with Lana.

Drew McIntyre won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 from Brock Lesnar and later defended the title against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank 2020.
