MITB 2022: Ronda Rousey Retains, Liv Morgan Cashes in to Become New Champion

Ms. Money in the Bank Liv Morgan is now the new SmackDown women’s champion. 

Ronda Rousey submitted Natalya to retain the SmackDown women’s title. However, she didn’t get a chance to celebrate as Liv Morgan cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and defeated Rousey to become the new SmackDown women’s champion. 

Ronda Rousey and Natalya’s match was filled with submission maneuvers. Rousey survived through several lethal submission moves of Natalya including the sharpshooter. 

During the match, Rousey tweaked her knee when Natalya threw her out of the ring. Natalya started working on her leg the moment she realized that Rousey’s leg was hurt. 

In the ending moments of the match, Natalya puts Ronda in a sharpshooter but soon Ronda reverses it into an ankle lock. Rousey went to the mat to put pressure and then Natalya tried to lock the sharpshooter again. However, Rousey locked the D’Arce choke to get the submission. 

Liv Morgan’s entrance music hits and she comes running to the ring. She cashed in her MITB contract. Initially, Ronda puts her in an ankle lock but soon her knee gives up and Liv rolls her up to get the pinfall.
