WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Braun Strowman in non-title match at WWE RAW this week.
Lashley is supposed to defend his title at WrestleMania Backlash 2021 event in a triple threat match agaist Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre. Strowman was added to the match after beating Drew McIntyre in a singles match last week.
This week, he decided to take on either one of them in a singles match to prove that he can beat both of them in one-on-one competition. It was decided by a coin toss that Lashley will face Strowman on RAW tonight.
During the show, the tension between all three men continued to rise. MVP, Lashley’s manager, even pitched to McIntyre to team up with Lashley against Strowman and take him out, so that Lashley & McIntyre could have a justified singles match between themselves.
The match between Lashley and Strowman went down in the main event of the night with McIntyre on the commentary. During the final minutes of the match, Lashley managed to send Strowman into McIntyre as he avoided a running tackle. McIntyre then went on the apron which distracted Strowman and gave Lashley the chance to finish him with a spear.
Just as the match ended, the commentary team announced that Lashley will now face Drew McIntyre on next week’s show, as per WWE Official Adam Pearce. McIntyre also laid out both Lashley and Strowman with his Claymore kick to close down the show.
10 May episode of WWE RAW will be the go-home edition for WrestleMania Backlash PPV. Keep tuned in to see if any other match is announced for that episode.
