I Quit Match – Complete List from WWE, AEW, ROH, TNA & More
The I Quit match is a special submission match in professional wrestling, the winner of which is decided when he forces his opponent to say, “I quit.”
MATCHES
The first known I Quit match took place at NWA’s Starrcade 1985 where TA Magnum defeated Tully Blanchard to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. In WWE, Bret Hart vs Bob Buckland was the first I Quit match, taking place at WrestleMania XI in 1995.
In WWE, 24 matches have taken place under this stipulation so far. TNA/IMPACT has seen 11 such matches, WCW has had 6, ROH has had 5, ECW has had 3, and Lucha Underground and AEW have had 2 matches each under the “I Quit” format.
