WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 Match Card, Tickets, Storyline
Jon Morrison & The Miz (c) vs The New Day vs The Usos vs Heavy Machinery vs Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler – SmackDown Tag Team Championship
At Super ShowDown, The Miz and John Morrison defeated The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) to capture the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. The following night on SmackDown, it was announced that Miz and Morrison would defend the title in a tag team Elimination Chamber match at the event. The challengers announced for the match were The New Day (Big E and Kingston), The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso), Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker), Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik), and Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.
The Usos defeated them in a tag team match after the announcement of the match. Next week, all the teams participated in a Gauntlet match to determine the last entrant in the match. Although Heavy Machinery had a marathon run in the match, Ziggler and Roode won the match.
Street Profits(Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)(c) vs Seth Rollins & Murphy – RAW Tag Team Championship Match
At Super ShowDown, Seth Rollins and Murphy retained the Raw Tag Team Championship against The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). On the 2 March episode of Raw, The Street Profits were given one final opportunity to win the titles. And with some help from Kevin Owens, they successfully defeated Rollins and Murphy to win their first titles on RAW.
Later in the show, Seth Rollins announced that he will not abandon the tag team titles and he and Murphy challenged The Street Profits to a rematch for the title at Elimination Chamber. The match was later made official.
Andrade vs Humberto Carrillo – WWE United States Championship Match
The rivalry between Andrade and Humberto Carrillo started after he won the United States Championship in December 2019. This led to a match between them at the Royal Rumble Kickoff pre-show. Andrade retained the title on Royal Rumble but Carrillo won a rematch on the following Raw by disqualification due to Zelina Vega’s interference. Following the match, Carrillo performed a Hammerlock DDT on Andrade onto the exposed concrete.
Andrade went absent due to the storyline injury due to Carrillo putting him on the concrete floor. Vega brought up her new associate, Angel Garza to continue with the storyline. Garza then defeated Carrillo at Super ShowDown. However, on the March 2 episode of Raw, Carrillo teamed with Rey Mysterio to face Andrade and Garza, and pinned Andrade. This earned him United States Championship match against Andrade at Elimination Chamber.
Aleister Black vs AJ Styles – No Disqualification Match
On the February 24 episode of Raw, The O.C. (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson) attacked Aleister Black in a backstage segment. Black was left beaten up but he still successfully defeated Erick Rowan after that. He then challenged Styles to a match for the following week.
Styles came out for the match next week but said that Black would have to defeat Gallows and Anderson before he could face Styles. Black did so but was exhausted and in poor condition to face Styles. The match took place regardless, and Styles defeated Black easily. Later, a No-Disqualification match was announced between Black and Styles for Elimination Chamber 2020.
Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak
Drew Gulak, with his Powerpoint Presentation gimmick, claiming to know all of Daniel Bryan’s weaknesses and offered some help. Bryan denied and Gulak started tutoring his opponent like Heath Slater, Erick Young and Curtis Axel. However, Bryan defeated all of them to add to Gulak’s frustrations.
On the March 6 episode of SmackDown, Drake Maverick approached Gulak to face Bryan. As Gulak was once again boasting to know everything about Bryan, Bryan put out a challenge to him for a match at Elimination Chamber.
