Elimination Chamber 2019: The Usos are the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) have won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship beating the incumbent Champions The Miz and Shane McMahon at the Elimination Chamber 2019 event.
The Miz and Shane McMahon have just won the title from the Bar at Royal Rumble 3 weeks ago and this was their first title defense. Prior to the match, when Miz and his wife Maryse announced that they are pregnant with their second child, it looked like WWE would be giving them another feel-good victory. But, it did not turn out to be the case. While the self-proclaimed Best Tag Team in the world gave it their best shot with Shane McMahon even executing his signature Coast to Coast and an elbow drop through the table.
The Usos on the other hand have won their sixth Tag Team title overall. However, this win did not come via thier double team finisher. Miz hit the Skull Crushing finale on Jimmy and went for the pin which was countered by Jimmy to toll Miz. Jimmy Uso was recently arrested when he threatened a police officer with voilence after being pulled over. And with their contracts up in April, even if Usos would have lost this match, it would not have come out as a major shock.
