Edge vs Miz Announced for WWE Day 1 PPV
Edge has agreed to face The Miz at WWE Day 1 2022 PPV.
Edge returned to WWE last week at WWE RAW and immediately got interrupted by The Miz and Maryse. Miz was also returning to WWE after a few months after he got eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Both men got engaged in a war of words in last week’s segment, but Miz refused to Edge’s invitation for a brawl between them.
The feud intensified further as Miz then hosted Edge at the MizTV segment on this week’s RAW. At the end of the segment, Miz challenged Edge for a singles match at Day 1 PPV(actually botched the name as January 1). Edge accepted the challenge and closed the segment by punching Miz.
This will be the first singles match between Edge and Miz since January 31, 2011’s RAW episode. Before that, they have also faced off in singles action at RAW episode of January 24, 2011, and Smackdown episode of February 26, 2011.
Edge is coming after a break but he has been involved in high-profile feuds earlier in this year with Universal Champion Roman Reigns and later with Seth Rollins. Miz teamed up with John Morrison at WrestleMania 37 as he took on Damian Priest and Bad Bunny.
WWE Day 1 2022 PPV will air on January 1, 2022, from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. WWE Championship Triple Threat and WWE Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns is already confirmed for the show.
